I really feel the spiritual aesthetic of this user.

Yes Iowa state continues their schizo season.

Oklahoma is just bad.

At this point the playoff should permanently transition to a SEC v ACC format.

The Big 12 showed its ass early. The Big ten tried to kill football and merits exclusion this year. pac-12’s a joke, so they can get fucked.

You mean Clemson versus the SEC winner.

The playoff can’t really be taken seriously until it sits at 8 teams.

So the playoffs are improved by letting less qualified teams in and further diminishing the value of the regular season? :?

The chances of the 5-8 teams beating legit 1-2 teams is not good. I look at Clemson and Alabama lately, you could have as many teams as you want and they basically weren't losing.

for me, as a very big college football fan, the ultimate national champion/game holds little interest to me. I never really got worked up about it before there was a game. I thought it was fun that a UCF could claim to be champs.

It was great back in the day when you had the 2 polls and the mythical National Champion. It was great for the fan bases to argue over.

If that’s the lense you want to look at it through.

I look at it more as a way to break up the recruiting stranglehold the sec has, and allowing other very talented teams to get some national spotlight.

Any team can lose on any given Saturday.

Yes because they have a recruiting edge from the ESPN hype machine, and constant national spotlight.

Keeping the playoff at 8 would help other schools recruit better players.

Any team can lose on any given Saturday.

If you want to break up the SEC recruiting stranglehold then enforce the rules.

What rules, and what are they doing that Ohio St., Michigan etc aren't?

Besides Vanderbilt, virtually every SEC team does amazing in recruiting. Why would that be?

Are you arguing the SEC doesn't cheat far more than other conferences?

Start with wherever, but don't go back 20 years. I don't care about that. i haven't seen a program suspended or banned from a bowl game in a while, have we?

So are you saying there was rampant cheating 20 years ago in the SEC but it has now mostly stopped?

Has a school been banned from post season play recently in the SEC?

Auburn averages a major violation like once every 3 years for the past several decades. I had the number before and it has escaped me

That's the whole point in that NCAA enforcement has become virtually non-existent and if you wanted to end the SEC dominance then you would look into the recruiting tactics that basically puts the entire SEC besides Vanderbilt near the top.

By your logic though, I couldn't even consider Auburn or Mississippi State to have cheated to get Cam Newton.

Well you are right, the SEC doesn't have the great ethics of the Big Ten and such schools as Michigan State, Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan. Hopefully we can get better.

Hawg, they all cheat. But the SEC is continuing the traditional 1980s levels. And that includes Vanderbilt btw.

I said that they are. But Vandy is just as dirty as Mississippi. And Mississippi is as filthy as they come. Which is to say Louisville and UNC dirty.

Vanderbilt is really dirty. I mean look at all the great players and wins they've had.

Sure. What does that have to do with SEC recruiting?
