Thinking back, that hit by Kyle Fuller that caused the fumble was perfect. It’s so hard in today’s NFL to hit a guy with that much force without getting some sort of penalty.

That's what I don't understand. Did Brady choose to not get a first down because it was only third down? I could see it if he threw it to the end zone but that looked to be a pretty normal pass in that situation until he acted confused.

The Fuller hit obviously worked out, so it's hard to criticize, but it's not really what they want in terms of tackling. Earlier in the game, Tampa broke off a long run because the Bears' secondary was playing pinball instead of wrapping up.

Why does every win feel like it comes down to some fluke play or a dumb mistake? Is it because the Bears have so little margin for error, due to the offense, or are they just lucky?

10 wins should pretty comfortably get you in with an extra playoff spot and the whole NFC East seemingly not a threat to get anyone but the champ in.

If he knows it is fourth down he would have been looking at someone running a shorter route which or may not have been completed.

I think the play call would have been different if he knew it was 4th and 5. But that raises the question whether Arians called something different...did he say after the game?

The play call is irrelevant, the Bears player(Gibson ?) made a great play on the ball. Brady's weak ass 45 year old arm is showing.

Was interesting to see the Bucs make some of the same clock management mistakes as the Bears...made even more interesting that no comment was made by Buck and Aikman.

The priority at either third down or fourth down in that situation is to get a first down.

If it is third down there is more leeway to take a shot if it is a decent look. On 4th down you just about always go for the 5 yards.

You are acting like he threw it to the end zone. He threw it 10 yards past the first down line. I've seen throws like that a lot of times on 4th down.

I don't see how it would have changed his approach. He threw to a guy who would have had the first down, correct?

He threw the ball 21 yards down field. He hits the back out of the back field if he realizes it is 4th down.

He should have done that on third down given that the guy 21 yards down field was covered.

To further illustrate the point, the play was called that sent every WR downfield well past the first down line. So the playcaller considered that a valid place to throw it on fourth down too.

He thought it was second down. We also do not know if the play was changed and or if it was designed to hit the back out of the backfield after clearing the middle of the field out.

The play wasn't changed.

So now it's at the point where he was wrong on the down and threw it to the wrong person on the play design and instead threw it to the decoys designed to just create space.

I know that it's blasphemous, but it's starting to become clear why Brady's receivers are always so banged up. He's throwing them into kill shots and the broadcasters ignore that as well.
