In the graphic novels Hughie’s design is based off Simon Pegg.

I mean exactly like Simon Pegg.

Which makes for an entertaining read.

Pegg was too old to portray Hughie in S1, but they still casted him as Hughie’s dad.

Also, Antony Starr has portrayed Homelander so well.

I wish the awards group recognized him more.

I mean...if I'm being honest. I kinda like all of the characters. This new chick that just joined is pretty fun and brash.

I'm just starting the Homelander arc with his son and it's already giving me the creeps.

I think Starlight/Annie is the weak link, but a minor quibble. The boys are all great; the supes, even the side characters like the gay evangelist and Haley Joel Osmand all fit the roles perfectly.

I thought it was a bit of a weak ending. It felt rushed compared to last season.

Homelander became more interesting and sympathetic. He was an abused and abandoned child. So he’s now a damaged adult. Even Stormfront has some depth rather than just as a Nazi. Not sure if this AOC character will work out.

Although the reveal is...cheap? A bit of a cheat too because, the head popper was in very different “moods” that can’t be explained away as acting or putting up a front.

I think the writers just wanted to surprise you.

They said they filmed it both ways and went with the more surprising ending.

Did anybody like the head popper reveal? I thought there was a ton of shit that was way too uneven about that person’s actions. The YouTube explainer hand waved some of that, but didn’t exactly change my mind.

From that perspective I don’t hate it, but you had so many great villains established it doesn’t seem like you need somebody new.

Even if you get rid of Stormfront, there’s an obvious angle to set up homelander and his kid as some uber villain tag team. AOC has antagonized the supes (which the emotionally unstable homelander wouldn’t forgive), killed Govt officials - what’s her constituency? Theoretically her base hates the supes. If she drives up hate to cause a backlash from normal people and provoke some type of conflict, couldn’t an out of control homelander have done the same?
