Dead at 77.

Less hatred of Ryne Sandberg in the world now.

Him and Miller were the best pairing ever for Sunday Night Baseball

One thing you have to realize is, in the context of dying is the concept of living beyond the grave. Much like anticipating an incoming double play, something a second baseman should be able to do in his sleep, when one is traveling through time space postmortem, you will find Xanadu. It is something that I of course understand, but another second baseman who doesn’t belong in the Hall of Fame would ever understand. It bears pointing out, that this second baseman was so insecure about his stake in life that he underwent a hair regrowth process making him unfit to ever find Xanadu, by the way. Once the pineal gland has been activated by positronic forces, unknown to the living consciousness, you traverse through various quasars until you become incandescent, and eventually you are a star. Already being a star while living, I understood the process and can shine eternally, whilst other second basemen who are fraudulent self-appointed “stars”, will never find this existence and will wither into outer space like crater spores.

I remember a broadcast where Jon Miller was talking about meeting Kevin Costner before the game. He asked Joe Morgan if he'd ever met someone famous that he was in awe of. Morgan said Yes I was on the beach once and all the sudden I heard Hey its Joe Morgan! I turned to look and it was the Jackson 5 and they couldn't believe it was me. So he told a story of someone famous being in awe of him.

It's been a rough past few months for Hall of Famers.

lol of course. ACAB

Quote:
In March 1988, while transiting through Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Morgan was violently thrown to the floor, handcuffed, and arrested by LAPD detectives who profiled him as a drug courier.[15] He subsequently launched and won a civil rights case against the LAPD in 1991,[16] and was awarded $540,000.[17] In 1993, a federal court upheld his claim that his civil rights had been violated.

Greatest 2nd basemen I've seen. Very good 2nd man in the booth. Big backer of Ron Santo to the hall of fame. Not shy about using the race card.

Roberto Alomar was better. Sandberg arguably was.

I agree.

I didn’t appreciate him enough in those days. He was a tough listen at times as a young Cub fan, but as an older fan of the game now, I really how great that duo was.

On another note, I didn’t realize he was a 100 WAR player. Nearly 700 stolen bases and led the league 4/5 years in OBP. I knew about the back to back MVPs but I didn’t give him his due.

All time great to be sure.

If you played Little League in the '70s, you did some practice ABs with the arm flap.

You know you did.

That, Pops Stargell's spinning the bat and Carew's crouch as well.

Nah, they definitely were not. Morgan was a substantially better player than either one.

No way any reasonable baseball fan could argue Ryno over Morgan
