You know he'll end up on the Patriots and look like a star.

I would do it for the rest of the year, the Jets are paying the contract. You would just have to pay the veterans minimum. Couldn't hurt.

He hasn't been good for three years now, which is a long time for a running back. They also signed Lamar Miller. So I doubt it would happen. I wish they had kept Kerrith Whyte or took another young back instead. But when you dump draft picks it causes depth issues.

That's what I'm betting on. Top 3 RB as recent as 2017 and he's not necessarily "old".

He might not be old. But he quit wanted to play football awhile ago.

Rbs lose it real quick. There is no gradual decline.

Assuming there's a market for him, why would he sign with the Bears? He needs to go to a team that will use him as a number 1 and has a good O-line so he can make a case for another big contract. As someone else said the Patriots make a lot of sense and the Vikings have a huge need now. The Giants might be attractive as well purely due to need and the NY factor.

Seems like a guy the Patriots would sign to kick the tires on but would cut by week 10

Meh, the Patriots always seem to have a stable of no-name backs that can produce on any given week. Not sure why they'd want to kick the tires on Bell.

If Lamar Miller is healthy he gives you a little more speed in the backfield which this team needs. Intrigued by Bell's pass catching ability, especially with Foles who is much more adapt at recognizing the LB/RB mismatch than the previous QB. The team is paper thin at the RB position and Montgomery's running style will cause him to miss at least a few games, is Bell and upgrade over Patterson as your RB2? Going into the season with Cohen who is more of a gadget player was GM malpractice, but maybe Pace stumbles into a guy that can still be productive for you this year.

Agreed.. dozens of UDFAs are a huge upgrade. Pace continues to boggle the mind.

We signed Miller to the practice roster a couple of weeks ago when Cohen went down with a season ending injury.

go get him. Cut him if you don't want him.

But he's going somewhere else.

No thanks.
It will be like when the Bears got Marion Barber. But probably worse.

They couldn't get Mike Davis on the field so I'm not sure how they would actually use Bell.

How can we be sure it was a season-ending injury if the season hasn't ended?

Yet they force carries for Patterson? Sometimes you wonder about this Nagy guy, an "offensive genius" who cannot find or develop offensive players? We're only a few games into the Foles experience, but sure looked like Foles gave Nagy an earful for his shitty playcalling against the Bucs. The only real benefit from the expectedly brief era of Nick Foles Bears football may be that Nagy is finally exposed as an offensive fraud.
