Since I was diagnosed with hypertension last year I haven’t been able to eat as much steak as I used to.

Down from maybe 3ish times in a month to about once every 4 or 5 weeks.

I know petite sirloin is what people with my condition are supposed to eat if we want steak, but it’s really hard for me to not spoil myself with NY strip if I’m only rarely eating it.

I also rarely turn down brisket.

What say you CFMB?

Bonus points for favorite rubs.

If I'm cooking it, strip because the leftovers slice easily to go over rice or salad for lunch the next day. If I'm at a restaurant, rib eye. Or if a place is known for it, prime rib with a quick sear on the flame.

I had to have my gall bladder out a few years ago. Since then, I'm usually fine with 8-11 ounces with a lot of vegetables, any more gives my liver too much of a work out. That's half a Costco ribeye.

I added prime rib in the options.

Yeah a lot of vegetables are a must for me when eating a steak.

Helps the steak move through you.

Are you an A1 guy?

tough call to choose between Rib Eye and Brisket...but brisket has to be made properly.

I have to give an excellent Corned Beef or a brisket from Texas honorable mention.

I've never been a steak guy. If I have it I usually drench it with A1 sauce. Gale Street Inn ribs all day, baby!

Ribeye, specifically the cap/deckle (spinalis dorsi).

To be honest, I’d probably take a good chopped steak (hamburger) over any actual steak.

Amen. My grandmother used to pan fry steaks and in the winter that's what I still do.

Tri-tip alone or tri-tip tacos. Tri-tip either way.

Is it blasphemy to put a sirloin in the slow cooker with seasonings, potatoes, vegetables, and chicken stock/water mix?

Because that shit is really good.

Reminds me of the scene in Rosemary’s Baby where she cooks the steak for about three seconds on each side.

Pro tip: if you can get outer skirt steak, it’s better than inner.

I know.

I was debating whether or not to select that.

If I edit now it will erase all the votes.

Noted for next time tho.

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had skirt steak.

May have to indulge next weekend.

how have you never had skirt steak? Its very common. Go get yourself some carne asada from a good mexican restaurant to pop your cherry.
