Listened to ZZ this afternoon talking about Larussa. Pretty funny stuff. Most of the callers say Larusso like Jimmy Piersall did. ZZ takes a call. Starts out civil. Anything that he doesn't like, he cuts off the caller, and goes on a 15 minute "you people just don't get it" hissy fit rant. He leads into a replay of a morning Maddon interview with, "a candid, honest Joe Maddon. Is there any other kind?"

what show was this? I didnt know ZZ had a show. I'll check it out.

As for LaRussa,if he gets the gig, it will draw a lot of baseball fans to the WSox. The interest in the Sox will be huge nation wide. That's the type of big name the Sox need if they want to get talked about on the national stage. It would be really exciting to see. I would be definitely be watching the WSox daily w/ Larussa as the manager.

Let' see what they'll do next year. I don't think they can do 162 if covid is still around. Having guys stay in hotel lockdowns for 6/7 months is asking for trouble. It'll be interesting to see what they decide in 2021.

Sox need a push button guy who will manage the pen in line with what Hahn thinks is best.

The lineup is borderline no brainer. You could configure it any number of ways and they’ll score. Find a guy who won’t be an idiot with the staff and they’re golden.

I would disagree with that.

But I don't think LaRussa is all he's cracked up to be. The A's should have won more than one championship.

I believe Larussa was one of the first managers to use his closer for the full 9th inning. A starter cruising would go the complete game or be pulled if he was in trouble. But, Bobby Thigpen preferred the full 9th inning. The starter then was pulled after the 8th a high percentage of the time during his tenure.

Wrong. The clean inning closer was already invented. Dave Duncan invented the clean inning set up guy.

I really hope this is not the case.
The Sox finally resemble something of a respectable and properly run organization. Hiring LaRussa would be a complete derailment of that progress.
