no doubt, but for me the tv show was amazing, the first movie was pretty good. and i dont have high expectations for this movie since half of the trailer had him wearing makeup to avoid looking like borat

I thought the Ali G Show was outstanding.

The first Borat movie was honestly the funniest movie I’ve seen in a theater.

I’ve never heard a movie audience laugh like that before or after.

Like he says in this trailer it’s difficult for him to be Borat when Americans recognize him so easily.

First Borat was hilarious. The theater experience was tremendous haha. Complete with a few people walking out at key moments. Which of course was perfect.

Admittedly, it was a me problem, but I was disgusted by the fat hairy sidekick.

Borat comes in just a moment too soon.

I'm a hard-boiled Gen-Xer who sneered at sincerity my entire life. The humor of Sacha Baron Cohen is specifically tailored to appeal to my demographic. I used to love it. But as I've gotten older and grown as a person, I don't find humor targeted at other people to be so great.

And it's one thing to take down the rich and powerful. I don't really care that he fucks with Rudy. (Even though it seems obvious to me that Rudy wasn't in there for anything but an interview. He's an old man who probably can't even get wood and he likes just being around a hot young woman.) But this guy often targets regular people, the working class, those who are powerless but don't share his limousine liberal politics.

i can see that--satire is about exposing the powerful, and rich. when you yourself are both of those, your satire rings hollow. it's like punk bands that make it. once you make a broadway show of one of your albums...it's over.

this is what happened to michael moore to me. i liked his early stuff and he was a lot funnier when he was mortgaging his own future just to make a movie and/or TV show. once he became a rich, powerful polemic himself...it doesn't work anymroe.

I've never gotten the appeal of his humor actually. It's generally cringeworthy moments. Mostly miss than hit. At the same time, exposing assholes and bigots ain't all bad. I don't find fat guys telling fat jokes funny either.

Well it's been the ultra left wing elite's MO to make fun of regular working people for the last 20/30 years. If you're just some regular guy trying to work and raise your family they think that is a sin. If you are not selfish and all out for yourself you are some kind of degenerate in their eyes.

The guy in the movie who invited him into his house I took not as some stupid simpleton but how generous American's are as a people. I know a lot of people who would have done the same. But that's made fun of these days as being stupid and naive instead of trying to reach out with a helping hand.
