I never recovered from the big 8 and southwest combining.. Miss the old thanksgiving weekend games like Oklahoma vs Nebraska and the memories of watching Pitt vs Penn State at my grandparents house in Western Pennsylvania. The age of independents was pretty cool, the mega conferences, not so much for me.

As an Arkansas fan, it kills me we don't play Texas every year. That rivalry had a great history, including the first game a sitting President ever watched live in person.

Them getting upset would make my weekend. Only because of the panic and chaos it would cause.

Fumble for a Clemson td, Etienne is back. Game over.

But it was funny to see him come back to the sidelines following a young tender in tight shorts who was carrying his helmet.

They're just bitter that they're taking the high hard one to end the relevance of their season in week one. :D

That catch by #11 on OSU is probably the best catch I have ever seen in a college game.

Announcers really don’t like the targeting rule or the interpretation of it. Not crazy about the rule but wasn’t surprised at all by the two ejections.

Emperor Saban strikes again.

No reason your number one receiver, and a top 10-15 pick next April should be returning kicks for your team if you have his best interests at heart.

I’m sure he’d prefer to play in a warm climate, but I’d love to see Dillon Gabriel in a Bears uniform.

Dude has a big arm, and is very aggressive.

391 yards & 5 TDs with three minutes left in the 3rd qtr.

Iowa fumbles twice deep in Purdue territory and rack up 10 penalties. Purdue wins.

I like Minny’s QB Tanner Morgan.

Surprised he isn’t rated higher as a draft prospect.

Yeah. Penn st Rb didn't realize they were letting him score until too late. Should have went for 2 and try to end it right there.

This was the first Saturday that I've had to consume a full day of football....it was glorious.
But is it just me, or were the targeting fouls overly abundant today? It's not exactly a new rule fellas, time to adjust. Stop lowering your helmet.

It could have been the sheer number of games yesterday, but in previous weeks it did seem like you’d get at least one in every game you were watching.

It also seems to me there are a lot of fluke targeting calls where the ball carrier is turning or falling a certain way, and the defender is just caught in a bad angle.

There are def dudes with bad intentions that should have a flag thrown on them tho.

The craziest targeting call I saw this year was on a UCF ball carrier in their loss to Tulsa.

Never seen an offensive player get called for targeting.

I posted about it a few pages back.

The PSU defender didn't get called for targeting, which was the correct call. Huge hit

I had completely forgotten about Peyton Ramsey because of the transfer and the delayed Big Ten season. That's a guy to keep an eye on at the next level. Big but still mobile. Accurate. Smart. He did the heavy lifting of taking Indiana from horrible to average. Pennix took over the starting job about midway through last season but as you saw against PSU, that is no knock on Ramsey.

Just when Wisconsin finally found a QB.

This kid seems really talented too.

I'm sure a bunch of kids had it but the B1G didn't want to fuck with week 1. Ohio State played a game, that should qualify them for the BCS now, cancel the rest.

So the head coach of Purdue test positive last Wednesday and can coach this weekend, can I get an explanation?

He tested positive sometime over the weekend prior to the game. Coaches only have a 10 day quarantine. Players have a 21 day quarantine because of more contact with opposing players.

The 21 day quarantine rule is going to be a problem though but it was supposedly needed to get the strongest "play the Big Ten season in April" Presidents on board. It's plausible that Wisconsin is about to have their next two games cancelled from this.

Supposedly they have 2 healthy quarterbacks, this is beyond dumb. The Big Ten should have just sat this out.
