I'd love it too. Henry Blanco role. I loved the way that guy caught.

Id rather have Molina even late in his career over Willie.

Molina gets the most out of pitchers still. Maybe Willie will learn over time but he has to calm the f down first.

This is correct.

Also, the division is terrible so the Cubs could probably bring back most of this team as is and win the division.

And accumulate 10 hits en route to being swept.

This is the likely outcome in the playoffs.

10 million is a pretty nice going away present.

It sounds like a basic framework is in place. He may well accept a NRI so as not to take up a 40 man spot. One year at $5-7M won't break the bank, even the COVID bank.

But if there are no fans at Wrigley due to restrictions, I think he just retires.

I do think that he needs to be slotted against certain lineups and certain home plate umpires, however. If it's a regular 162 game season, maybe 23-24 starts with a planned midseason DL stint over the ASG break. He needs to split the #5 slot with Marquez, as the latter is likely to be on a pitch and innings limit.

4th or 5th starter? Fine with me. They don't have shit for pitching anyway.

Hell, sign Wainwright too. Why not.

I think it is more likely that the White Sox sign Wainwright.

I'd rather see Marquez or Abbot.

You will see Marquez. But realistically he is going to be on an innings limit and isn't going to give them 32 starts.

I don't think Abbott comes up full time unless they are out of it and deal either Hendricks and/or Darvish at the trade deadline. He might also get a couple of starts if there are early season rain outs made up as late season DH.

I agree, but with the strong prospect of a work stoppage in 2022 and then a new CBA, I don't think they will want to start Abbott's clock unless they are a total garbage fire and start selling everything.

Stanton has 7 years left and opted in this year. No one wants that contract.

I’d rather have that than jhey and Kimbrel in the short term.

And might as well sell high on Darvish. This team is going nowhere with him.
