Saying Foles is better than Mitch is not a terrible thought.

Saying (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is better because of "running," even though he hasn't run in two years, is a terrible thought.

What about your ppg thought then?

Mitch would have shit himself against the Rams or Bucs.. I'm at the point where I want Mitch back in against a decent team..you all have forgot just how shitty he is.

Mitch threw 6 TDs last time he faced the Bucs. Enjoy the statue-esque turnover machine that is Foles though.

Bears beat the Bucs, we don't beat Tampa or Atlanta with Mitch

As Dennis Rodman would say, "the most frustratinous", thing about the Nagy/Pace era is that evaluating the QB position is difficult because Nagy is such a terrible offensive coordinator. He lacks the ability to develop a game plan, identify/develop offensive players, recognize/attack weaknesses, and most glaringly, call plays that match the talents/abilities of whoever is playing QB at the time. Mitch may develop into a serviceable QB in a system that uses his abilities, but that will never happen under Nagy.

The failures by Pace have been discussed ad nauseum on this board. He just does not seem to understand how to draft skill position players. The lack of player development on offense is so egregious that it would seem to be grounds for dismissal for Pace. The Colts GM has taken the exact opposite approach by drafting offensive lineman early to protect the QB and the Colts seem to be light years ahead of the Bears.

The guy who was interviewed for Pace's job.

One of the hallmarks of the McCaskey's is that they almost always make the wrong choice when it comes to picking GMs or coaches.

of course, he had to lose a QB who looked like he was going to have a HOF career before he wised up and started to build his offensive line

Brick and FF operate under the following logic, using video games as an example:

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's Madden rating is 71

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is benched.

While benched, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's rating magically increases to 85.

Only in the world of FF and Rick does (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's value increase while benched. He must be doing a hell of a job holding the clipboard in practice for his value to increase like that.

Huh?

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's rating didn't magically increase to 85. It is 87.4 this year because it is a stat based on performance. Last year, it was 83.0.
This year, Foles is 80.2.

It was an analogy. Not the first time nuance is lost on you. In your plea for Mitch to get back in the lineup, you ignore two years of data and experience, as if the past two years never happened and Mitch is some blue chip prospect who can "shake things up" a bit. Mitch is the same guy who delivered horrid numbers last year and this year. Nothing has changed. What's bizarre is thinking he'll magically be different from the guy he is.

Even if he was the exact same player as last year it would be an improvement over Foles. 2019 (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky > 2020 Foles. Who is ignoring two years of data and experience?

That's why you won't even predict that Foles will outperform 2019 (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

I agree 2019 (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky wasn't good. That's why it's tough to see 2020 Foles be worse than that.

Nagy isn't playing Mitch at this point so the whole argument is moot.

Not sure where you're making this up from.

Rick and I have been clear from the start. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is better than Foles. So far we have been proven right and you have been proven wrong.

Can we move this to the Think Tank?

Both QBs mediocre at best, and the Bears are not winning a Superbowl becauseof the way either would play.

How will Mitch look holding a clipboard on the sidelines next year behind bigger bust Mayfield?

I don't even know why this is in question anymore. I knew this 4 weeks ago.

Mitch is the better of the two evils.

The move should be made. Nagy doesn't think so, obviously. But if Foles throws a bad pick in the 1st half I can see him making the move.

i think at this point you need to do what the players want. when foles came in, they clearly perked up. they were tired of mitch.

but now, are they tired of foles? i think only the coach is close enough to them to know that. or, does half the team want mitch and half want foles? in that case were just fucked.
