You can surf here. Its not that you can't, its that the waves are bigger in Hawaii.

With today's wind, it makes great conditions to surf on the lake.

It wont be the IHSA vs the state. It will be schools individually or collectively.

2 things on this:

1. Then what difference does it make what the IHSA's opinion is on this matter?

2. It definitely would NOT be collectively.

1. Many Supers have been saying they will do what IHSA does and it provided them cover. Now IHSA is saying go ahead and play. It now falls on the schools to decide what to do.

Pretty much every group thinks the IHSA is out to screw them. CPS, Catholic, South Suburbs. Down state schools think they favor Chicagoland and Chicago area thinks they favor Central and Southern Illinois. Suburban coaches feel they cater to CPS. CPS feels they are not considered. All these things can not be true.

This is a point that keeps getting brought up that does not matter in this conversation (not by you, just in general).
It's like complaining that people are surfing in Hawaii right now, but we can't do it here. Or, complaining that my school has a dress code but the school two towns over doesn't.

It doesn't matter in the conversation and wouldn't matter in a lawsuit.

Surfing is a terrible analogy. Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Indiana and Missouri are all playing and going to finish. Sure some teams seasons were ruined by Covid but the overwhelming majority got through. Same would have happened here. All with higher positivity rates than Illinois.

It shows that sports can be played and schools can be open. How many Covid lawsuits so far across the country? How many Covid lawsuits in Illinois schools so far?

Surfing is still open in IL, it's just different.

My point stands.
It doesn't matter what other states are doing. We aren't talking about other states. It isn't important to the conversation

It is completely important to the discussion. Why is Illinois different? Because they do not share "the science" being used to arbitrarily allow or close certain things? Why is Illinois supposedly susceptible to lawsuits when they are not being filed here or anywhere else do to Covid?

This is the loser's lament. Also, my point isn't political. Yours is.

It's not important to the discussion because....Illinois makes the rules for Illinois.
Iowa doesn't make Illinois rules.
Neither does Indiana.
Or....and so on.
It's not a hard concept to grasp, you just disagree with the decision. That's different. I'm also not talking about my opinion.
But again, Illinois' decision is not based on any other state.
