and they were hit with injuries and COVID to boot. It gets better from here. The Bears did a fantastic job covering the run yesterday and the Vikings have been leaning heavily on Dalvin Cook to produce their mini hot streak.

Bear get the win next week to go 6-4. Then they get the bye to heal and get healthy. Then they get those dickheads who voted for Trump once and almost did it again.

I came here to post the same thing. I didn't have the Bears winning any of these three but I still see them getting to 10 wins and maybe the playoffs if the NFC West kills each other. I still think Foles can be good for a whole game. I've circled Monday's game for a while now.

I know this isn’t college, but the only glimmer of hope I see with this team is that Foles is really fucking good in tempo/no huddle situations.

I’m sure Nagy’s ego won’t let him make the adjustment to a faster paced offense tho.

many qb's look good against prevent defenses. many qb's play better in hurry up when D cant sub. problem is you cant do that all game.

Yeah, Foles excels against a prevent defense. I think the Bears can work out a deal with opponents to start the game with the Bears down 21-0.

I’m just trying to provide hope.

MANY on this board struggle with positivity.

You guys don't seem to watch the NFL beyond the Bears. Public perception of supposedly good teams (and bad ones for that matter) changes on a dime from week to week

Spent years outside Chicago. Everyone outside knows this team can't score and that perception isn't changing soon.

Foles is a rhythm passer.

With this offensive line you have to use every gimmick you can find.

If this is delusional then I’d like to hear any other suggestions to improve the offense.

Maybe one read Mitch, and his bum shoulder can save us because he can run a little bit.

the solution is get better at run and pass blocking.... to achieve you need 3 or 4 new offensive lineman who arent horrible. the entire bears offense is a gimmick. they spend more time running horizontally than vertically

I agree.

Your solution is not an in season solution.

What modifications can be made to this offense that will improve it before we lose 7 more games in a row?

None. You need a draft and free agency.

Yes I’ve been on that train for over a year now, and neither of those outlets were used last offseason to address the worst O-line in football.

So no one has any in season suggestions to modify the offense for improvement?

Come on CFMB football minds.

Join me in my campaign for the use of tempo.

stop being predictable on offense. that means passing more out of the I formation. correctly identify the defense pre-snap and stop running man beaters against zone defenses. running more RB screens is an idea too... since the d-line could be fooled by that since they will just assume they are getting pressure on the QB like every other passing play. if the line is showing they cant pass block for plays that need a few second to develop stop calling those plays until the line shows they can block it up.... because foles throwing off his back foot is 1990's/early 2000's bears QB bad.

Those are good suggestions.

They would be even better if you throw in a little tempo for a few drives each game outside of the 2 minutes at the end of each half.

Billy PoopXL...

I do remember the Bears trying to run screens more last year, but they never seemed to work.

Like never.

Your point about the D-line over committing on that play is valid tho.

I think yesterday Nagy called shorter developing plays, but there was still pressure on every drop back.

This bears offensive line is just letting pass rushers run by them.

sure tempo every 3rd drive or so would be fine, just not the whole game that isnt sustainable

There's not much they can do now. Nagy already fucked the season up by benching the best QB on his roster. It's a fireable offense.

Can Patterson throw the ball? New Orleans runs those plays with Taysom Hill that seem to work almost every time.

Barkevious Mingo is now my favorite NFL player name, replacing Jaquiski Tartt.

Correct, hence the first sentence of the post...
