Not sure how a big of audience there is around here for a fictional orphaned chess prodigy story, but finished this last night and enjoyed it. Only 7 episodes too, so an easy watch.

It was excellent. Higher quality than the usual Netflix show. If it was a movie it would have been an Oscar contender.

Agree that 7 episodes was just the right amount. When the chess nerds in NYC called when she was in the USSR to help with Borgov was great.

Bill Camp, the guy who plays Shaibel is good in everything he’s in. He was in the Looming Tower on Hulu and the Night Of and the Outsider on HBO. Perfect supporting guy. When he got called a cocksucker by the 9 year old Beth Harmon I laughed my ass off.

It’s a little slow because it’s about chess. Played by a girl who doesn’t talk much

that was a body double.

Finished this up this morning, great acting and well written..one of the best shows I've seen on netflix in years.
