Tuned in a few times in the past couple of weeks, and while Dan continues to live in a world where he feels he is an important voice in all things social justice I noticed a couple of other things.

His midday midway/high noon daily bit is basically Larry Lujack's old Animal Stories, right?

Also, he seems to have adopted a style where he tells a story through usage of pre-snipped audio clips. He very clearly has an outline, and high expectations that his producer will have each specific clip queued up and ready to go at the right moment. One of the days I listened, the producer played incorrect clips two times in a row - and, well, ole Danny boy sure did have to work hard to suppress his inner Murph after the second snafu.

It may just be a product of doing a solo show, but man it struck me as sounding so similar to the much hated Murph (not far enough) which I found very ironic and compelled me to login/post.

I'm not clear where everyone on this board went to, btw, so perhaps I'm just posting to myself.

Murph ran a tight ship. That's why he had the best ratings on the score for a very long time. Not only against the competition but also against other score shows.

I dont know if there was a history of animosity between murph and bernstein. maybe vitoscotti knows?? I remember in the early days murph helped bernstein along in his radio career. bernstein owes murph an amount of respect.

the main board is pretty dead. Most ppl are posting in the POLITICS section since the election just ended. Also lot of activity in the COVID board.

I doubt the main board will pick up because there are no sports right now other than football.

Whatever he’s doing, or attempting to do, his show sucks.

Although he has a knack for taking a topic I agree with and making me change my mind simply because of how superior he thinks he is. Sure, he’s a smart guy, but the holier than thou act can’t be performing well ratings wise.

The show is dog shit

No doubt he does this. I probably would too from time to time. But as much as Dam claims to “love intellectual discourse,” all he really wants is to construct and reside firmly within an echo chamber.

When’s the last time he had a guest on with a differing point of view? Whitlock?

Unless I'm goaded otherwise, I would ideally prefer to talk politics in the Politics threads (and maybe, of course, my own personal Shoutout Thread, because, after all, I do love me some me).

I enjoy satirizing and lampooning what I consider to be abject idiocy, however, I try my best not to be a serial harasser or Board Chaser. I stand by my summation of things, though, and will defend myself if the need arises.

I'm cool with whatever. Respect begets Respect.

You don’t come across as satirical. At least not last week. Can’t say I noticed you prior.

Last week, you came across as legitimately unhinged.

I am more able to joke about it now because I have seen enough to believe that these people are not going to get away with this.

Besides, though, how can being "legitimately-unhinged" not be completely justified after seeing what occurred?

Anyone who did not/does not become similarly legitimately-unhinged either doesn't know what is really going on or doesn't care to know.

I refuse to believe that Americans would voluntarily give up their own independence and freedom of thought in favor of subjugation.

I’ll just keep quiet to not derail this thread.

But it’s more than reasonable to assume that fraud/shady dealings occur on both sides. In fact, it’s probably the true hallmark of modern presidential elections.

Two sides of the same coin.

Investing in either side emotionally is a fools errand.

Not when the choices are "freedom/independence" on one side and subjugation to other countries' ideals on the other.

Yup.

Bernstein could never come close to Murph's gayness.

I do, and this does not qualify, as the two choices are independent of and in complete adversity to each other.

We currently have the former, and we are being hurtled toward the latter.

No, every time I tune to 670 AM all I hear is HuffPost Radio.

Must be a technical difficulty.

ok then. you're not missing much. it's not the score like it use to be. i listen to ZERO shows. Maybe will catch Les at Night once in a while and when Mac was on occasionally listen to one of his podcasts. but now, zilch, nada when it comes to the score. i even got tired of speigs and levine's baseball show.

Yes, and he had a fake mid-eastern name to add even more credibility. Dan would read “his” texts with great inflection.

Weird that he suddenly disappeared.

Fake texts, emails at the Score was, and is always common. Murph, Hood, Speigel, Bernstein obviously. Les is the king. He'll read fake texts inquiring about yesteryear to trigger long drawn out time killers that he uses when he's drowning. He's got about a dozen nostalgic subjects that he uses over and over, and says about the same thing each time he uses them. There's been talk that he has family members call during graveyard shifts using various names and locations to help kill time, or praise him.

ya vito - i listened to Les last week and it was like I was listening to the same show from 10 years ago. Someone needs to tell him his shtick is really old and used up but he's on the graveyard shift so probably nobody cares.

I always felt there were paid callers on most of the shows too. Some of the 'regulars' seemed too fake to be natural. Bernstein's fake texts are easy to call out as are LoHo's.

Was the fake texter's name "Amir"?

A trait shared by the two most nauseatingly disingenuous people at the station.

Amir, Rudy, and Jalen from Rosemont always had emails pop in to support Dan in a timely manner.
