Covid strikes again.... No gallery and Bryson loses his tee shot 30 yards from the green on #3. Most likely plugged in the wet rough.

Love me some Uncle Verne but he’s really starting to slip. They need a new voice up there. Feherty would have been a good choice.

I haven't had a chance to watch until now. I'm sitting down in my recliner with my dinner and a beverage, and am cranking up the 9 hour ESPN+ stream of featured holes 15 and 16. I will probably get through four or five hours tonight, and then follow the featured groups tomorrow.

Feherty's out. Augusta had him removed years ago from CBS Masters coverage.

That was Gary McCord. Feherty left CBS for NBC. Verne has lost a step, but I hope he stays until he dies in the tower on 16 with a vodka gimlet in his hand.

I watched a replay of 2.5 hours of Friday morning on 15 and 16 when guys were finishing their first round. The par 5 15th had been the second easiest hole on Thursday but the front pin location just raped the players on Friday morning. Just enough moisture in the air and on the grass, and a ton of players went for the flag, missed just short of the pin, and rolled back down the false front into the water.

Adam Scott dropped, hit a wedge back in. Hit the flagstick at the top of the first bounce, and ricocheted back and rolled into the water again. Took a double.

The first guy on 15 cleared the water far right and ended up in a bunker. After seeing his partner roll back into the water, he was so scared of pulling his sand shot that he didn't even get out of the bunker.

Fun stuff. I really enjoy focusing on two holes on Friday.

Just mixed myself a Bloody Mary and fired up a cigar. Saturday at the Masters!

DJ is on fire to start his round.

Lots of mud ball complaining, figured it would be a big issue.

I've been watching the featured holes around Amen Corner for the last six hours. 12 is playing really easy, but on 13 there are a lot of distance errors both on approaching over the water as well as on chipping and the mud has definitely been part of it.

I got my blow-up round for Phil on the wrong day, as he made the cut after all. But 79 today.

Count me as very happy to see Bryson struggle. Something about him really rubs me the wrong way.

Edit: good to see Frank and I are on the same page regarding Bryson.

Count me in as someone happy to see him struggle. For all the talk about him "dominating" the course DJ's showing him how it's done.

I did not think Bryson would have the short game to get it done this week at Augusta. He may in the future, but not right now.

I am not a big DJ fan, but he is just playing Head and Shoulders above almost everybody else right now.

Really too bad that Rory spit the bit on Thursday. Even if he had played even-par or just one under, he would be within Striking Distance. He's going to need a miracle to get it done tomorrow.

I think that DJ can knock out a 67 on Sunday: -4 on the par 5s and -1 elsewhere. Course record is 63... That really limits who can realistically catch him if he doesn't fuck up his driving.

Bryson seemed flummoxed by the mud on his approach shots, and was being a pussy and blaming his woes on his sinuses or something.

That's my problem with him. All finger, no thumb. It's always something or someone else's fault.

Really. How many other times have you heard guys on tour say that they just didn't have it whether it was off the tee, or irons, or short game. It's always somebody else's or something else's fault when it comes to Bryson. Such a douche.

DJ could realistically win even if he shot a 74 or 75 tomorrow.

Happy Masters Sunday, if you can't win finish in the Top 12. It means you will be back in April.

I think DJ wins but it’s the Masters and he’s shown in the past that he hasn’t been able to finish in Majors. I like DJ and his game a lot. Would be great if a couple guys could tighten it up to just a few shots going to the back. Johnson can’t just try to par everything. I think if he gets to -18 then it becomes very unlikely someone can catch him. Lots of birdies out there but we all know any hole can jump up and bite with a double.

Tiger with the hat trick!

For the life of me, I will never understand why these guys go after the pin on Sunday at number 12. Just put the ball in the middle of the green, 2 putt, and get the hell out of there.
