At least the Cubs won't hire a racist drunk to replace him.

we all knew it was hoyer as the guy who would take over. didnt he just get coffee for theo?

but what's the story behind the story here? Did Theo want to keep the same guys going into 2021? and Ricketts and others wanted to rebuild?

Sounds like maybe a struggle there and Theo decided to quit or forced to 'resign'.

There is no story and there is no struggle, but you remain an idiot.

I highly doubt he was forced to resign.

Sure they were just reaching terms of a settlement.

But it’s been clear that he and Tom have had philosophical differences since 2017. Ricketts refuses to keep spending and rightfully so.

Does this mean a "full rebuild" is coming?

you are naive if you think he just walked away when he just talked about leaving next year and using this year as a transition.

Maybe he has been offered the Mets GM job w/ their new owner wanting to win a WS in the next 3 years.

'Spending more time w/ the family' will take a back seat if the Mets go after him.

Now he's free to run the Bears. Great foresight by the board.

Things have not been Kumbaya.

The second Ricketts started beating the drum that money doesn’t buy WS and pointed to how much they’ve already spent, that was indicative that he was being critical of how Theo was allocating the money.

Yeah I get that.

I’m saying they made it seem like we’d at least get him for the last year of his deal.

Like to see Hoyer clean house of Theo's underachieving cronies throughout the scouting system.

That is absolutely the most damning critique of Theo’s reign.
