Think of the FAs the Cubs could have signed with the political donation money the Ricketts (Yes, Laura too) set on fire over Theo's tenure.

What did you want him to publicly say about the Heyward signing that would be “ manning” up to it ?

And how does manning up get you closer to another WS title?

They won a title for first time in over a 100 years. He was a success. Could have been better but honestly, if you would have told any Cubs fan when he was hired they would definitely win one, everyone wouldn't care about the rest.

It is a TESTAMANET to the standards and demands of the Cubs organization. 4 years removed from a World Series and the Team President is out the door. On the South Side, you have a team that hasn't won shit since Bush 2 was president and the Team President gets to creep the hallways still like Lawrence Holmes.

Theo being forced out is actually good!

Correct.

First 1/3 of Theo? Historically bad. Middle third? Just short of as good as can be. Last third? Mediocre.

I have to think that Theo knows the final year of his deal was not likely to be good...otherwise he would have finished it out.

How many World Series titles in Chicago did Veeck win?

Veeck had success--in the stands and in the standings--on both sides of town.

Rickett's is pissed off because daddy took away his play money. Now he needs to get good with papa money bags so he can get his allowance back.

Did some research and you are correct.

"To be candid, I dont think I did Anthony any favors when I was GM of the Padres, Hoyer said. We called him up because we werent getting any first-base production in San Diego and it was too early and it was a mistake on my part."

How can anyone sanely rationalize that a guy that didn't bring a single Championship is the best "ever". I'm honestly curious?

I mean you have

Jim Finks(Bears)
Theo(Cubs)
Krause(Bulls) hate him or not
Tallon/Bowman for the Hawks.

It's just an incredibly stupid thought.

Yup. That's the objective way to look at his tenure. Perfectly average.

Theo has the better legacy by far. You have to include the World Series in Boston when comparing GM's.

They are pretty equal if are just comparing Chicago records.
