Don't get too stuck on college production. It's probably only half of the evaluation in drafting a QB.

First we have to pray that Foles opts out and we have a clean slate for next year. Then, find a vet who can hold down the position. Alex Smith would be someone they could pursue if he gets cut but there are others.

That puts us in a position to draft someone who is projectible that can be had after the first round. First round is going to have to be spent on something else.

At the moment, I'm really looking at Tanner Morgan from Minnesota. They are a run first team so his numbers are depressed a little. Highly accurate and throws a great deep ball. Mobile but not a run first QB. Acceptable but not elite size. Two year starter who was taking partial snaps three years ago. Program that has reached previously unseen heights with him at QB. ROW THE BOAT!

I was high on Tanner Morgan last year going into this year.

Haven’t watched him since Michigan took apart the Gophers offense in the first B1G game this season.

Minnesota wasn’t a run first offense last year btw when they had more talent at WR.

They still have one of the top NFL draft prospects at WR in Bateman, but I haven’t watched much.

Morgan seems like a middle round, maybe later round prospect.

One evaluation I read on him said he’s got all the tools to be an NFL backup.

Also, Foles isn’t opting out.

THIS....that needs to stop.

The Bears philosophically have royally screwed up their position. Mitch is Mitch and Foles is Foles....which is at best average at best. Had they shown any inkling of concern on the offensive line, either QB could be serviceable.

Trask has 2nd or even 3rd round grade now, drafting best OT available in 1st, have one of the second tier QB prospects slide into 2nd round, and then take the best remaining OL prospect in the third would be one way to begin rebuilding the offense.

I think Trask goes 4th QB taken..late first round.

I’m fine with skipping high round QBs altogether this year.

Go get Gabriel in 2022.

If Pace is still here can see him falling in love with Trask and giving up draft capital to move up when he should be trying to trade down and pick up extra picks, especially if there is a run on QB's early.

Have to find a LT in this draft, there are several with first round grades and at least one should be around when Bears draft, if the wheels fall of they may get a shot at one of the top LT prospects.

Sounds about right.

I'd rather they were scouting big fat offensive linemen

Trask looks good, he still gets drafted after his tight end Pitts.

Correct.

Hopefully, that hit Pitts took two weeks ago hasn’t fucked up his head too much going forward.

He is very special, but needs to go to the right scheme to be effective.

Wilson is moving up fast. Brugler and Zierlein have him #3.

I want to like Wilson, but I just can’t get on board for some reason.

Brugler says there were questions about his height and arm strength coming into the season. He says scouts are satisfied he really is 6'3" and he's been driving the ball.

Pretty good draft for the Bears with some options at QB in the 1st and some good offensive linemen available in the 2nd like Slater and Little.

I'd love for Lance to fall to the Bears but I promise you he is restored to #3 by the time of the draft.

Now, I can only hope the Bears do the right thing over the next six weeks.

I'm not down with giving up whole seasons and I never cheer for losing but I will not complain if, organizationally, they decide they can only go forward by taking a step back for a miniscule six games.

I’ve amended my draft take.

No sense drafting a stud QB when your Oline is this bad.

Need to use every pick to draft all offensive linemen in April.

Then in 2022 the Bears need to go hard after Dillon Gabriel from UCF.

How do you even accomplish that? Throw in Bray and hope he's as bad as he probably is?

They could justify trying Bray out

I’m just going to say it.

We do not want Trey Lance.

Kyle Pitts would be so tempting to draft if he’s available when the Bears pick.

That’s ridiculous. You used the term stud so if that’s the criteria then you always take him. You can alway choose whether to play him right away or not.
