How many of our current offensive starters would start for other teams, Robinson, maybe Whitehair at G?, and who else? If you look at upgrading the offense you need of course QB, both tackles, a guard, two TE's, RB (Montgomery is just a guy), two WR's? Moreover, you really need a complete organizational philosophical change in the way you approach offensive football.

Mooney deserves another season.

He could end up being a really good slot receiver, or an ok #2 if you find a legit slot guy.

I’ve been hard on the Kmet pick, but he should also get another look.

Agree with most everything else you’ve said.

I think we can wait on taking a high round QB this year after you helped me realize we need to go all in on OL next April.

If the next GM is smart he should be able to find a starting LT in the first round, pick up a QB and a RT in rounds 2-3, sign/draft a starting G, basically rebuild the O line because fully expect next HC to put Daniels back at center and put Whitehair back at G.

Kmet is struggling as most rookie TE's do, but almost all of the offensive players are struggling to run this offense. It will be interesting to hear what was really going on under Nagy after he gets launched, it looks like there is either no buy in from the vets on offense or Nagy is more of the used car salesman type coach like PJ Fleck and is completely incompetent when it comes to developing an offense.

RB should be last on the list. O-line before anything.

The oline may be the worst group I’ve ever seen. You could make the case for needing 5 new starters, though I’m frequently told - without evidence - that whitehair is actually good.

Fire Nagy, rebuild O-line.

Agreed, Pace locked up three guys on the oline that look to be replacement level at best. Whenever Olin or Thayer talk about Whitehair they both say he can be OK at guard, but Daniels should be at center, will take the impression of two guys that played oline for a long time over Nagy any day.

I'd call Whitehair average at best.

That all may be necessary but it is also a full rebuild on offense which means they will be bad for at least the next 2 years. Will the defense still be top tier by then?

Left tackle in the first or second round. Left guard in the third or fourth round.

This offseason stabilize WR2, TE1, LT, LG, C, and a couple of 7th rounders or priority UDFA towards developing on the practice squad to eventually test at RT/RG. See if Cohen has anything left after his injury.

Next off season stabilize QB, WR1, and RT. Following off season fix the backfield, RG, WR3, TE2.

Welcome to the future of the Chicago Bears.

Also, Kyle Pitts may very well be available when the Bears pick.

He is a game changer in the right system.

Would be hard to pass, but offensive tackle should be the first round pick.

Bears will have picks in rounds 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6.

4 olinemen and a quarterback. Nothing else is acceptable.

I like where your head’s at.

As long as QB isn’t the first pick.

Can’t pass up any available offensive linemen with a first round grade next April.

I'm ok with the 5th being an inside linebacker if it means getting rid of Travathan. LT, QB, LG, no pick, ILB, RT project, no pick

You cannot say anything for sure as of right now. If there is a good QB available in the first round you take them and use the rest of the draft to go after OL. QB is the biggest need on this team right now.

Well we disagree there.

A good offensive line sent Mitch to the Pro bowl.

IMO offensive line is by far the biggest need.

I’d rather they build this thing up from the foundation and that’s having a line. Without a line a rookie QB is going to get murdered. If they somehow stumble into a good pick in the second or third you go for it but without a massive upgrade in the trenches this team is going nowhere. Really, I’m at the point as long as it’s not pace picking I’ll feel better.. I fear him combining the first 3 picks this year and the first next year to move up to draft the QB from Nirth Dakota State... or is it South Dakota.. whatever.

Yes. Stack the OLine. Unless you draft a Hall of Fame quarterback, everything becomes easier with a great offensive line.

The other thing I want the new Bears GM to do is draft a quarterback every year. I don't care if it's the first round or the 7th round, but take a quarterback every single year.

The more we can reduce the chances of this happening to our future franchise QB the better.

Yeah, pretty much. Got to stop chasing picks too and trading up. This team is not one player away.

Interesting.

Sounds like a future guard, but maybe works at right tackle.

i am completely good with investing heavily on the line, but you dont pass up a chance to get the most important player on the field if he is there

Trade 3 picks to move up in the first round and draft a QB
