Vainisi wasn't a player personnel guy like Finks, he was an accountant. But he was a good counterweight to Ditka. I wonder if Ditka would have acted differently in 1987 if Vainisi was still around, maybe Ditka wouldn't have been antagonistic to the striking players

Didn't Ditka have him fired in a power grab attempt?

First INT into 2 dbs
2nd INT into 3 dbs

Maybe he will try to throw into 4 DBs in the next possession.

No, it was McCaskey trying to erode Ditka's influence.

ya back in the early 90s they had a documentary of the 80s superbowl team's demise. Ditka was on there saying how the McCaskey's and Phillips fucked over Jerry V.

Which only shows how inept they were. Firing the counterweight to the buffoon Ditka.

Maybe Dak if the Cowboys keep losing and they can draft a QB.

Vainisi was one of Ditka's best friends. Vainisi provided good counsel to Ditka. It was McCaskey that got rid of Vainisi. If Vainisi was around in '87 (remember he got fired after the January '87 playoff loss) I think he would have told Ditka not to speak ill will of the striking players. Ditka turned off a lot of Bear players during that strike and that team was never the same after the strike in '87.

If there is one thing Nagy those well, it's make halftime adjustments.

7 points score by the offense in the third quarter this season.
0 points and 1 st down for the great Nagy offense so far in this 3rd quarter.

Vainisi was Ditka's guy in the FO. I mean could you blame the McCaskey's for what they did? Anyone in the McCaskey's position would have done the same. The McCaskeys are shit owners proven time and time again but this time they did what they should have done to protect their franchise.

No way George McCaskey would approve a rebuild plan from Pace.

Remember that 87 team before the strike. That team was going to win the SB. Post strike they were never the same.
