Here is the shootout scene in Heat. Turn the sound way up. It's one of the best scenes ever!

I need to go back and watch that movie again.

It’s not perfect, but it’s really fucking good.

So do I. I was in my "hipster independent movies phase and thought all main stream movies sucked" phase when it came out.

When was he young with his shirt off? That's the best role.

Heat?

It's pretty damn close to perfect--and it's certainly one of the two or three best heist movies of all time.

Could have cut the romance shit out and 45 minutes... You got it ahead of reservoir dogs? Usual suspects? Jackie Brown? Hell or high water?

I like The Town as maybe an honorable mention because it’s really good, but prolly not in the class of movies you listed.

I thought the "timeout" was pretty stupid and just a reason to have Pacino and De Niro go eyeball to eyeball. It's good. Not as good as The Killing or Mamet's Heist.

It's been a while since I've watched those movies, but I've never considered either of them the equal of Heat.

The Heat timeout scene is obviously divisive among audiences, but I side with the faction that considers it essential to the movie's main ideas.

It was way too long, and I could have done without Al Pacino altogether.

That was my beef, cut out Pacino wife-daughter, the getaway driver wife and half of Deniro and the young broad..you got yourself a much better movie that's 45 minutes shorter.

really underrated comedy. It gets lost in that genre because of how Leslie Neilson dominated it during that era

He was fine but the writing was atrocious...which makes it hard to not laugh as when he speaks in poetic verse as if that was how he conversed IRL.

I’m not sure how well it’s aged for most but I saw it again a few months ago and still enjoyed it.

New documentary coming out this month, called Val. Apparently he started taking home movies of himself as a kid and throughout his career, so a lot of this is home footage. Sad to see he can hardly talk now with throat cancer.
