It's the zeitgeist, as we say here. I am surprised how many girls/women I come into contact with are doing this. Most aren't on hormones, but the others freely admit that they are gender-fluid, leaning towards being a man. Maybe there have always been people like this; it certainly is easier for a chick to dressing and acting like a guy (everyone here knows some) than a guy dressing and acting like a woman. For women, just get a short hair-cut and wear jeans and a flannel.
