Also, let’s hurry up with the Godzilla vs. Kong trailer.

I'm going to the movie theater for that.

I’m guessing we get it this month.

No evidence to back my claim up tho.

That’s def a theater movie.

I always liked going to the movies, even as people became more vulgar

I don’t think these movies will be free.

Disney+ had Mulan for $35.

They will on Piratebay. Movie theaters were great for movie studios because it was rare a movie would leak. The best people could get was a crappy bootleg. If it's on HBO it will be available free the next day in DVD quality.

Same here. I feel bad for future teenagers. They will just rotate from Facebook on the phone to Netflix on the TV. Fewer and fewer places to socialize.

Til we literally just submerge into VR, and that’s “better” than actual physical gatherings

I think they will bounce back. There is something about the collective experience of watching a movie with others on the big screen. I guess it's not for everyone though. Just not the same for me to watch a blockbuster movie at home even though I have a great set-up.

I feel the same way.

Love a good theater aesthetic.

And I like making a day of it, especially in the winter. Go to an early showing and then go get a beer and cheeseburger for lunch.

Yeah, I hope they don't go away.

It's a nice experience to go to a theater. For everybody. But especially for a kid. I've gone with my nephews and they think it's a BIG DEAL. I like that they think of it like that. I was the same way when I was a kid. We all were.

I was the same way as a kid. Going to the movies was a big deal. Some of my favorite memories of my Dad were when he would take me to an "R" rated movie and told me "don't tell mom". Back in those days it was "Terminator", "Commando", "Rambo", and the like. Every one of those '80s action movies seemed to have a gratuitous boob shot in them.

I don't it's the same for kids these days. They can watch whatever they want on their phone - and they seem to prefer watching stuff on their phone.

Well, I can just speak for my two nephews and one niece, they think it's a big deal. They get jacked up when their parents tell them they're going to Star Wars. And other movies.

The problem is the "others" normally need to check their phones every 10 minutes but they point it slightly down so you only see a glowing ball of light rather than a glowing rectangle of light.

Otherwise, I don't mind going to movies every so often but it was always terrible that you didn't have the option to watch it at home the same day you could watch it in theaters.

the drones looking at their phones isn't as bad with the way seating has changed, and they've developed those reclining/heated seating "areas" where you have a lot more room and aren't really near your neighbors. once my local theater started installing more of those, that nuisance became less and less a problem that i noticed.

i feel bad for the kids that were working there. that's a good "first job" when you're a teen.

It’s not like the theatres are even really that dark anymore compared to the old ones. You go into one of the old fashioned town ones around here and they are just pitch black.. remind me of the theaters when I first started dating my wife in that you couldn’t see people 5 feet from you.

I still like the theater experience but don’t go often anymore.
