Athletic has a big article n her I remember her from the Ditka show back in the day biut it’s not a very firm memory. Was surprised to read that Johnny is still with us.

Somebody interviewed Johnny about a year ago. Not quite at "retired from public life" stage yet, but not particularly enthusiastic about today's sports world or about talking about the past.

Didn't Johnny and Jeannie host a local Coach show on Sunday mornings? After they were divorced?

The Mike Ditka Show. Sundays at 10am before Face the Nation and the NFL Today. Taped on Friday night.

They may have also hosted the Neil Armstrong Show.

Yeah, I remembered being surprised by that. Until that time I presumed that divorced people despised their exes to the point that a show together was out of the question.

I don't understand how you can't hate your ex. Joe's partner was willing to shoot someone's face off for blowing a business deal. I can't imagine the level of hate for someone taking half your money.

Might as well just stay together if you're not going to hate.

Yes on both. Sunday morning staples of my youth. I was on the Ditka show and asked a question probably in 83 or so. It was a stupid question one of my friends told me to ask. Ditka was nice enough about it. I really just wanted to be on TV.

I really like Johnny and Jeannie together. They seemed like a great couple on air.

If you remember back in the day, CBS assigned the same analysts to every home game. Johnny Morris was like the voice of the Bears. I thought he was good at it.

They had both married and divorced others when they were young, and then married each other. This always sounded more like they still loved each other but realized that their goals and plans for 45-85 were very different and making a legal split was the best way forward. They seemed like the type of couple who would still fuck a couple of times a year afterward if the spirit moved them.

This morning Haugh commented that he interviewed her a few years back. She relayed a story about their granddaughter about 7 at the time. She asked why if they can work together and seem to get along why are they divorced. Jeanne told the child very honestly that she wanted to go to China (ie see the world) and Johnny wanted to go to the racetrack. Sometimes it is just honesty that works.
