Nope. Don’t trot out Alex Smith again. He’s not very good when healthy and loses another body part every other time he plays.

I wonder if Mitch will end up having an Alex Smith like career and redemption story.

Nfl is too random to tell. He’s a starting quality QB though and can make the pro bowl again in the right system.

He has been ripped on quite a bit as being overrated, stupid, etc. It's a performance based league so I get it, but it's not like he demanded to be drafted 2nd or be coached John Fox and Matt Nagy. He's similar to Smith in that an all time great was taken after him. So that will always be something hanging over him.

Imo best case scenario for him is to go back up Big Ben for Ben’s last year and then take over.

If I were a bad QB in the league I would take less money to sit on the bench in NO behind Brees. He is old and injury prone enough that you know you would get in a few games. Payton is a great offensive coach and can make anyone look good enough to get paid somewhere else. Which is also one of the reasons I wouldn’t touch Winston. How bad is he that they would rather trot a FB out there instead of him.

Brees is retiring in 5 weeks.

FF, your Mitch faith will be worse than your Lonzo - Tatum- Mitchell thoughts. This is nuts.

LOL. You've already been proven hilariously wrong on Foles/Mitch. Just sit back and let us educate you some more my friend.

By the way, I was right about the Bears being able to match his offer from other teams.

It's just that have to put that transition tag on him after the year. If they don't do that they are stupid. No downside.

Ok. He can only make a QB look good as long as they are better at QB than a fullback. He can make nearly anyone look good enough to get paid. He probably cant make anyone on this board look good enough. I bet Hill gets overpaid on his next contract. Some team will sign him to a big deal based on his play in NO.

Hill has guaranteed money next year. He’s not signing a contract this summer. He’s on the team for next year!

Yup. Never said next year. Next contract he will be over paid although 10 million per year a year is probably overpaid already.

My comment had nothing to do with Winston per Se.

Nope. Winston is a fucking loser, Mitch and Hill are not.

None of those 3 would start for a good team.

Can’t really agree. 2018 Bears were a good team

Their defense was great but they were vulnerable because of an inconsistent offense. Unsurprisingly it bit them in the end. The defense has slid since and Mitch’s deficiencies are now highlighted. He’s not an answer to a team in need of a better than average QB.

Not sure how anyone who watches Rodgers religiously and Favre before that can think (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is an interesting player.

I don't think Mitch is a great QB or even above average really. But he's a starter in this league. Hes a top 30 QB. He's of the "the world needs ditch diggers too" variety. I agree any team starting him will want an upgrade. But people who think Foles or Jameis Winston are better than him don't understand what they are watching.

Anyone who watches 32 teams instead of 1 team understands Mitch's value better than you seem to IMO

Per your own argument you said anyone who has Mitch would want an upgrade, and that he's not even above average. So if you have him but want someone else then what's the point? It appears that while watching all NFL games as you often brag you do you've forgotten about the foundations of logic.

Even as the no 1 hater of Mitch I've said his ceiling is an elite backup. Even as you disagree with me about him it's hard to see how my position on his value (elite backup) is all that different than yours (average).

I've already explained the point, and you're ignoring it for some reason. Are you under the impression the NFL has 16 teams in the league?

If you think there isn't a difference between the #16 and #40 QB in the NFL than I don't really know how to respond to that except to say that it makes it more clear why you insanely believed Foles was better than him.

There will not be one NFL team looking to sign Mitch as the starter. Probably some with competent QB coaches will take a look as a backup. Before the last few games I figured he would get a minimum prove it deal come March. Someone will sign him to a real contract. Probably Chase Daniels type money with incentives.

He's not signing a Chase Daniel contract. I would be shocked if he signs a multi year deal. He's gonna get a 1 year deal similar to Jameis to backup a guy like Ben or a shot to start in a place like Denver or Washington or NE.

No way he gets signed as a realistic potential starter.

Not sure you have good grasp on how many bad QBs are out there. He's better than Drew Lock, Alex Smith, and several other options.

And if he only signs that 1 year deal, for cheap money, why wouldn't the Bears be one of the teams that want to do it?

They don't have better options.

Bears fans have a subset of dipshits who are the last guys on earth to realize their QB blows. This is just like the Cutty apologists ..pathetic.
