Early in the COVID-19 pandemic, Three Floyds Brewing said it would close its brewpub and taproom indefinitely due to the virus. Indefinitely has become forever, according to the Times of Northwest Indiana. The newspaper reported Wednesday afternoon that the iconic northwest Indiana brewery has informed investors that its brewpub, which operated a full kitchen and poured a broad array of Three Floyds beers, will not reopen after being closed for seven months.

They are still brewing beer, you just have to buy it at a store and not at their Brewpub.

Good, not great beer IMO. Overrated a bit. You can absolutely do worse, But you can do a lot better without much effort as well.

Yeah, it's a bit overrated. I remember trying to track down Zombie Dust a couple summers ago and after finding it on tap somewhere I honestly thought they had gotten a bad keg or tap, because surely not as MANY people would be raving about an IPA that was...decent.

Zombie Dust is definitely better on tap...blew my mind a couple of years ago when it was so "rare" that it was being limited to a six pack per customer...then like 3 months later, it was everywhere all the time. Admittedly, that and Space Station Middle Finger are about the only beers of theirs I do like. Gumballhead isn't terrible, but I have to be in the mood for it.

I wish I owned a cigarette machine outside of that brewpub. I would be able to retire by now.

And I heard from a friend that they're a bit...demanding...when it comes to getting Zombie Dust, especially when everyone and their mother was trying to find it a couple years ago. You had to commit to buying some number of kegs, and you had to clear 2-3 other taps for the "lesser" 3Floyds lines if you wanted the chance to order ZD.

I've been drinking that beer from the time they started production because my BIL is in Munster. I liked it. We went to the pub early in its existence for a tour and to drink as microbreweries were so much less common in those days that it was like an alien landing. The brewers were kind of dicks, like these chefs who think they are artists.

I like the beer. Robert the Bruce was pretty unique for its day.

I don't get people who fetishize mundane items like beer. I like to drink something good rather than bad but I won't stand in a line for the difference. Piss water will get the job done as well.

I feel a great disturbance in the force. As if a million hipsters cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. Gonna be a lot tears mixed with beard oil today.

Never made it to the pub, but I’m still a BIGFAN of a few of their beers.

I agree overall the brand is a tad bit overrated.

Zombie Dust is still my fav beer, but I swear somehow Goose Island got a hold of the recipe when they made their Next Coast IPA.

Gumballhead and Robert the Bruce are solid as well.

I definitely think something happened to Zombie Dust, but it's probably still better on tap, just like any beer.

Recently I've come to love Urban Brew's Hazy Boi George, but just as I was getting used to it, it's no longer in production.

there are too many average IPA's out there. it's become stale because of its demand. i remember when there was just Goose Island India Pale Ale. that stuff was great.

As an aside, I’ve hated goose island since the double doink.

That stupid promo they ran - kick an FG in miserable conditions with no space in a parking lot - irrationally angered me and I haven’t bought their product since.

If you hate that wait until you hear about what one of the Two Brothers did to his infant kid.

Oh, they’ve been off my list since I learned of it.

Proudly anti-harming infants over here. I’d give the guy the death penalty.

Had no idea. Fucking brutal.

I don't think I have purchase or consumed any Two Brothers product before, and certainly will make sure I actively avoid them now.

I'll give this thought a second bump, and add that the brewpub was no great shakes either. I ate there once and, given the wait, I had no desire to return.

About one or two years into my marriage, my wife wanted to take her mother to this nursery out in Indiana for Mother's day and was looking for a place for lunch. I said, I know a place that has GREAT food and it is just over the Indiana border. I told her Three Floyds was a brewery but it was a really modern brewpub menu and was really tasty (having been there a few times before.) Then we get there and the menus were on clipboards, and it was very rustic (this was before their recent remodel.) I knew I was flirting on the knife's edge... my MIL is not super stuck up, but my wife was afraid we were in a glorified diner. The food came out and everyone was amazed and I was back in the good graces of all. I never lost faith in myself that I had picked a good place, yes a little unusual for what they may have been expecting, but I think it ended up being a good thing overall as I earned some amount of trust in planning things.

He went disgruntled British nanny on his infant son.

Causing permanent brain damage when the kid was like 6 months old.

Is buying Two Brothers now somehow supporting the horrible crime committed by one of the Two? I mean yeah it supports the piece of shit financially, probably, but buying their beer isn't a tacit endorsement of the guy's horrible actions, is it? Seems a little cancel-culture-y.
