I like Moss the analyst too generally. But Jerry Rice is so far ahead of him in terms of overall talent it's just an absolutely ridiculous thing to say.

At 33 years old Randy Moss became irrelevant in the NFL.

At 40 years old Jerry Rice had 92 catches for 1200 yards.

Anyone who thinks Randy Moss even had somewhat of a good point here is showing their ignorance imo.

Friendly reminder that at the age of 35 Jerry Rice tore his ACL in Week 1 and came back by Week 16 to catch a TD.

But sure, Moss was better.

Jerry Rice might be the best NFL player of all time let alone receiver.

I don't know why, I've never considered myself a big Rice fan or anything, but the amount of people that think Moss has a good case is making me irrationally angry for some reason

LT is best NFL player ever. But Rice is in the team photo.

I'm gonna stick with Rice but obviously I think LT is who most would say. That's a fine debate. There simply should not be any type of debate on who the best WR was. Rice has a good argument for being better than the 2nd best of all time for any position in any sport. Pick the 20th best WR of all time - Moss is closer to that guy than he is to Rice.

Recency bias + Moss was "cool."

Btw give me Calvin Johnson over Randy Moss any day of the week. I think Moss is a top 5 WR of all time. If you think he's 2nd best of all time that's fair even though I don't agree. There is simply no case to make that he's in the same ballpark as Jerry Rice.

I don't even know what Rice's stats would look like if he was drafted in 97. I'm guessing multiple 2000 yard seasons would be on the resume though.

Was Moss ever the best player on his own team? Brady, Culpepper, Moss...probably in that order

It’s honestly hilarious how bad your football takes are. Its worse than COF level by far at this point. You should just start posting all your nfl thoughts in my worst sports thoughts of all time thread to save us time.

This post while saying Moss is equal to Jerry Rice is definitely in the team photo of the dumbest sports thought ever posted on here.

TO had diva tendencies but never on Sundays. Played his fucking ass off every game regardless of situation. Moss was a front running pussy who never showed up when it mattered and never took a hit to help his team. No chance Moss plays in the SB with the injury TO had, let alone gets 100+ yards.

Just truly bad thoughts by you here but the Moss/Rice interchangeable one is by far the worst.

I missed that post by KD. KD is one of my favorite guys here but yeah that's a dumbass thought and doesn't really explain why Rice put up 92 catches for 1200 yards and 7 TDs while at the age of 40. When Randy Moss was 40 he was out of the NFL for several years already.

This is not even the most impressive stat of his if we wanna play the stat game. There's just too much to choose from.

Not gonna comment on Rice because I didn't see his prime. I think I'd take Megatron over moss for the effort issue folks have already cited. Dude got buried in Detroit unfortunately, just like Sanders.

That's the best thing about this debate. My earliest football memories are like 92-95. I didn't see Rice in his prime either. You simply didnt need to in order to make the right call in this debate. I remember 33 year old Rice well. He was better than Moss at his best. And on the other hand, I remember Moss very well from when he was a rookie to when he was irrelevant at age 33. There's simply no comparison between the two, there's no case to make for Moss being on the same level, let alone better.

I'm open to all cases, I'm just personally not commenting on JR because I didn't see him. Withdrawing myself from the GOAT convo. Moss and Megatron I did see however. Loved both.

I’m open to at least hearing all cases. Nobody has made one yet for Moss. Because there’s not one that you can actually make with a straight face.

Rice vs Moss
Most yds in a Season: Rice
Most receptions in a Season: Rice
Most TDs (23) in a Season: Moss**
Most TDs per game - 1.8 - in a Season: Rice
Most TDs in a single game: Rice
Most yds in a single game: Rice
Most TDs in a playoff game: Rice
Most yds in a playoff game: Rice

**Rice caught 22 TDs two decades before Moss caught 23 and Moss undeniably played his prime years in a more WR friendly environment. The above facts also don’t address Moss quitting on his teams.

Tell us again how Moss is better and/or they are interchangeable fellas
