Folks have mentioned this before and yet nobody can respond to me mentioning what he did at 40 years old on the Raiders. Let's even throw in what he did at 41 years old

And Moss's best season came with Tom Brady too so that entire point is just worthless.

If you're the greatest wide receiver in history is it unfair to expect you to be relevant until 34 years old in the NFL? Keep in mind there was no injury or Calvin Johnson scenario, it was simply a case of Moss not being good enough to be a top 100 WR in the NFL by the time he was 33 years old.

Anyone saying anything other than "yes Rice was clearly better" either put zero thought into any of this or is a dumbass. KD is smart so I'll grant him the former.

Maybe Tyreek Hill is the best WR of all time. Apparently the qualifications for GOAT status is be fast and catch deep TD passes and play for a short amount of time.

And...Rice never quit on his team.

Can we just get actual football viewers in this thread?

That would be ideal.

I almost didn’t start this thread cuz I assumed it would be a few responses of “yeah of course Rice is the GOAT” responses and then die off. But CFMB never disappoints

If we're talking "greatest wide receivers of all time", I think Douchebag's grandma should be at least in the top 10.

I have plenty of memories of the late 80’s 49ers repeatedly pissing on good Bears teams. A Monday nighter Rice had 3 TDs and it was like a 40-0 loss and the 88 NFC Title Game where he had 2 that basically put the nail in the coffin of the 80s Bears run of being good. Fuck Rice.

1991 I believe; it was the game where Fontes lit up his cigar to celebrate winning the division.

Fucker.

Alright well that makes more sense. I can respect just saying fuck this guy he's not the GOAT Idgaf because you hated him shitting on your team.

Ha, I looked it up. 87 was 41-0 and Rice with the 3 TDs. 91 was 52-14 and Rice “only” had 2 TDs and 125 yards. PT Willis even had a garbage time TD pass to Tommy Waddle. Bears lost the next week to the Cowboys in the WC game and the next week the Lions beat the Cowboys for their only playoff win in forever.

That's weak. Just because you play with elite QBs doesn't inflate your own greatness. Otherwise why isn't someone like Brandon Stokley in the HOF if he played with Manning? The ball isn't going to catch itself even if it's thrown by someone like Young or Montana.

Sounds like you're making a case for Marty Booker to be GOAT simply because he caught passes from some of the worst QBs of all time.

Don't be dumb.

We're comparing two all time great receivers. FF is tossing Rice's stats all over the place to show how he's the goat. The QB absolutely matters. Giving him mediocre, at best QBs won't make Rice suddenly pedestrian. He'd still be great. Swap Moss's cast of characters for Montana/Young and Moss's stats improve significantly. To not acknowledge that is what's "weak".

Please stop ignoring this and tell me what Montana and Young have to do with what Jerry Rice did at 40 years old. 7 year older than when Moss was finished.

But yes as vegan said it’s pretty weak to just state those two names like it’s meaningful in anyway and like Moss didn’t play with the GOAT.

yeah I hated those niner teams too, but I can still see objectively enough to know Rice is way ahead of Moss.

Moss was physically gifted, not GOAT material though. He was incredible to watch.

I saw the Niners play at Lambeau around 1990. Montana and Rice were amazing. Television coverage has come a long way - back then you didn't really get a sense of the route running and timing involved. I don't think I would have fully appreciated Montana and Rice if not for that experience

RAIDERS for life.

Work ethic as well. He was like Payton in his combination of ability and work

This post while saying Moss is equal to Jerry Rice is definitely in the team photo of the dumbest sports thought ever posted on here.

TO had diva tendencies but never on Sundays. Played his fucking ass off every game regardless of situation. Moss was a front running pussy who never showed up when it mattered and never took a hit to help his team. No chance Moss plays in the SB with the injury TO had, let alone gets 100+ yards.

Just truly bad thoughts by you here but the Moss/Rice interchangeable one is by far the worst.

Yeah rice could definitely be a dick. He despised the publicity Montana got. I think he even did the thing isiah did with bird saying if he wasn’t white he’d just be another guy

I did. I also saw Moss quit on multiple teams and come up short multiple times in big playoff games.

It’s ok to admit you were wrong when it’s this patently obvious.

I’m assuming by ignoring the point of what he did with the Raiders Jet is conceding that it was indeed weak to post Joe Montana and Steve Young.

I look at Rice - Moss like I view Walter- Barry. Can't argue that either was better than the other but both are the two best.

Aaron Rogers is the best QB Ive seen, Brady has all the accolades but IMO he's not as great as AR. Football is the ultimate team game.
