yes that is why hiring Hoyer is the perfect move for Ricketts. I mean I wouldn't mind being a doormat for a few mil a year. smart guy.

Yep. Dumbfuck thought starting a network five years after people figured out cable was dying was a good idea. We got our WS win. Hopefully he cashes out soon. My guess is he is hoping for a salary cap in next CBA.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had already started offering slices of ownership (maybe in $100m tranches) to some well-heeled friends and investors.

Interesting comment :

Most non Padres fans likely don't know he was the Padres GM for about 18 months. He made a few moves that didn't really pan out and bailed on his contract. Probably when he realised he was in over his head. Then he crawled back under Theo. Hopefully he is fired and fails to find another job in baseball.
