Almost every group of Americans (actually, it's an international phenomenon) makes fun of the dialects spoken by every other group. It's called language ideology, and it's a fact. No, it doesn't make it right, but it's nothing new.

The one dialect (or aggregate of dialects) that probably costs Americans actual jobs and friends is Black English. People get way too harsh about that. (Oddly enough, Black English is the international language of cool.)

Well, I shouldn't be so dismissive--other dialects might cost people, too, but not like Black English.

I identify as spanish, complete with a terrible accent. This is ok in 2020. Everybody else identifies as someone they're not, so what's the problem here?
