The Mike has finally made posted some after the fact picks on his site. He went from 16-9 to 19-10 in one day, which means he went 3-1 on the 19th of August. He also went up "400 units". These were his plays:

Winners- White Sox, Tampa Bay, Florida/San Fran under
Losers- doesn't say

Pinnacle had the Sox at -105 yesterday, the Rays at -102, and the under game at +100. I have no idea what the other game was, but it doesn't really matter, because if he bet one unit (or, in North terms, 100 units) on each game he'd lose that many regardless of the bet.

With those three wins, he would have won less than 3 units, and of course he would have lost one unit on the losing play. That means that he won a little bit less than two units yesterday, assuming he actually recommended those plays.

Sounds like he's taking a page from World Champioinship Wrestling and making up stats just to sound impressive.

But wait, there's more!

We tracked Mike for 100 games during the NBA and NFL season. He went 68-32 during that period.

According to NorthtoNorth.com, the "Bookie Priest" went 32-31-1 in the NFL last season (see above). There were no NBA picks posted, although there were some NCAA basketball picks (there were no records and I don't feel like researching whether he was right or not in those games, since it's difficult to tell just what games he's referring to.) Does that mean he went 36-1 in those NBA games he played?

Also love the use of the royal "we."

Another one, this from his myspace page for yesterday:

Quote:
3-0 at the sportsbook with my 200 and 300 units games

OK, that could explain some of the descrepancy in units won (hey, does the Mike realize that unit does not necessarily mean dollar?) But according to dontfademe.com, he only went 2-1 yesterday. Plus, whenever you're playing different amounts and not posting your plays, there's always the danger that your winning plays magically become larger plays as well.

No, see, Mike was 68-32; the Bookie Priest was 32-31-1. As for me, I'm confused. I can't distinguish between when Mike is Mike and when he's the Bookie Priest anymore. It's like he has multiple personalities. This gets weirder and weirder. What the hell good is a handicapper who makes different picks and has different records under different names?

Oh man, I had completely forgotten about this: Mike North has a well-documented paper trail pertaining to his NFL picks; he was a public handicapper during the past NFL season for the Sun Times. His record? 125-131.

Now, that's playing every game, so I could understand how someone would do worse doing that, rather than making spot plays. That being said, a coin flip should give you 50% winners, and if your good, your spot plays should get you over that mark.

So now you have at least three Mikes: 68-32 Mike, Bookie Priest Mike, and Mike who was forced to pick every game in the Sun Times. You'll never pin him down on any of this.

That's a good technique, but it works better when there's different people. I have a feeling that's why Fred and Jen are there; as beards for when the Mike screws up. "Jen Jen is 6-2 in her last 8 games", etc.

You guys are getting more cerebral about this than warranted. This is a hustle, end of story. The dumbest of the dumb "players" will give him their money.

I just think it's important to get all this stuff down on paper (pixels?) for future reference.
