I predict that Pagano is gone. Nagy is extended. Pace sticks around. They will draft quarterback and sign a veteran. Look forward to seasons of 7-9 as the defense slowly fades away.

Next year is a brutal schedule that portends to 6 or less wins. I hope they recognize this and let Mitch walk with Foles getting killed as the starter. Keep Nagy and Pace. Let them wear the bad season then launch them.

Way too many high priced guys on defense to try a rebuild now.

Pace can't be allowed to oversee another draft.

Nagy needs to go simply because he is an offensive guru who apparently knows nothing about offensive football.

Agreed. I could see the Bears being cheap with no fans this year profit was down. They probably bring Pace back and Nagy back, let Mitch walk and clean house next season. I hops Im wrong.

If they keep Nagy, I could see the Bears firing Pace and promoting Champ Kelly to GM. He has already been getting a lot of feelers around the NFL for GM jobs. You are not going to get a quality external candidate for GM if you add the pre-exquisite that Nagy has to stay on.

Agree 100%.

This is true, but Nagy should be fired today because he did not have his team disciplined enough to ignore taunts from Gardner-Johnson. This dude talks, he's like Pierzynski. Ignore him and get back to the huddle. This happened just a couple months ago! And Nagy still couldn't get the team prepared to deal with it.

He'll never win a big playoff game. Maybe he gets a WC win, but he won't win a Divisional playoff game should he ever coach in one.

If everyone is on a one year prove it type deal then was is going to stop Pace from dealing future assets to load up for next year. It's a real mess regardless.

They might not beat any of the AFC North teams. At best they beat the Bengals and catch the Steelers with 7 hurt from the previous week and go 2-2. The Ravens and Browns will annihilate them.

It's going to be an interesting offseason. I don't know what to make of 2021, but I know that you can't begin rebuilding until 2022 at the earliest because of all of the dead cap hits this team would have. I would fire Nagy before Pace. Nagy hasn't provided this team with anything. His locker room success isn't showing up on the field.

I think they should let Robinson walk or tag and trade him. I'm not sure he is even the best FA WR going into the future. The draft is loaded. Here are some FA who will be cheaper who I like:

Curtis Samuel
Marvin Jones
Corey Davis
Chris Godwin
Will Fuller (medical)
Tim Patrick
Ju Ju
Golladay (medical)

all those guys but Jones are young and generally proven. There are a few that are just as proven as Robinson.

Corey Davis is a guy on the rise I think they could get. Chicago guy. Won't be the man in Tennessee. Deep threat who made the most of playing with non star QBs. Only 26.

Get me Corey Davis and a draft pick and I think we are in just as good a shape.

GM's typically get one shot at drafting a franchise QB, failing at that task will lead to a short tenure. Pace has missed with almost all of his early round skill position picks and has failed spectacularly in identifying talent at the QB position. He also seems to feel urgency to pay guys for very brief periods of above average play. Loves to pick guys that are athletic underperformers.

There is no reason to keep him, in fact the other GM's are likely giving the McCaskey's all kinds of false positive feedback because they want a chance to fleece Pace in upcoming drafts.

didn't realize how shite Ryan's contract is. Why'd they give Ryan's 33 year old ass 5 yrs/$150 mil (top salary in the league at the time, iirc)? Stafford isn't even 33 and I don't think anyone would give him 5 years at top QB dollars right now.

Stafford only has 2 years left on his current deal. If Lions can find someone to give them a decent set of picks (including a 1st round or multiple 2nd round picks) and serviceable QB to replace Stafford it's probably worth it for them to take the dead cap hit to trade him now. Cuz after next season he's only under contract for one more and you're not going to get a 1st rounder for 1 year of 33 year old Matt Stafford. Gonna take a thirsty team close to the prize to give up what the Lions should ask for as it is. Rams/Niners or the Colts make the most sense. Lions unlikely to trade Stafford in the division to the Bears. Are the Patriots close? I suppose with a Belichick team you're never not close.

I think Stafford on San Fran or Indy could win a SB.

That Tariq Cohen extension is a firable offense on it's own, he just gave him the same contract Kareem Hunt has. Except Hunt is much better.

Part of the motivation for trading Stafford is to give him that opportunity. And it sorta makes sense for a team bringing in a new GM and HC on the heels of the destruction wrought by Quinn/Patricia to go full-rebuild right from the get. Keeping Stafford around means you'll win a few more games and get a worse draft pick. You're stuck with the cap hit whether you keep him or not, so trade him and get the draft picks and rebuild. Lions willingness to deal Stafford might depend on if any of the top QB's fall to them at 7.

Mock drafts cropping up with Dolphins now taking a QB at 3, wtf? Maybe they mean the Dolphins will trade the pick to a team moving up to draft a QB. I don't think you can write-off Tua as a bust already.

With Jaguars/Jets and Falcons mocking out as picking QB's, Lions might be lucky to get Trey Lance at 7, or, worse, Mac Jones. Gotta figure the Falcons audible out of taking a QB at 4, maybe trade the pick? if Lawrence/Fields/Wilson somehow go 1-2-3. Eagles might even be kicking the tires on QB's in the 1st round, now that Pederson's gone.

Saints? Brees made $23M in 2020 but it jumps to $36 next season. Assuming he retires I'd assume they gain enough under the cap to take Stafford's contract on.

Even with Brees leaving I believe they are still around 40 million over the cap for next year.
