I could get a blowjob from my neighbor's college age grandaughter as soon as this weekend. Somehow I don't think that's going to happen either.

The Schwarber signing takes the Nationals out of the running, and the Lindor trade lowers the price of Springer for a team like the Red Sox or Blue Jays, where Bryant might be seen as a consolation prize if Springer's price got too high.

The Mets are doing a fantastic job fucking up the market, but in a fiscally responsible way.

Yeah they fucked that up, but he has not been the same player since he got hit in the head in 2018.

He seemed like he was the type of guy that would have been a Cub for life if he had a different agent.

People doubted it but the service time thing clearly bothered him. Telling him to go play 8 games in the minors to work on, um, defense, was a mistake. The Cubs were willing to spend money everywhere but on him.

Boras client. Lack of service time manipulation was not going to cause him to sign a deal. He was going to the highest bidder regardless. With how bad he was last year he may actually be getting more in year 7 then he would have on the market. Not how it was supposed to work but here we are.

Theo and Boras had a difference in calculating the value going forward.

If he has another year hitting around .200 Boras will turn out to be wrong.

Boras is always blamed but the player is the decision maker. If Bryant wanted to be a Cub For Life then Boras isn't telling him no.

Even if he hits .280 with 25-90... He won't get 100 million. He and Boras already fucked themselves.

You're right, he thought he was going to get 400-500 million.

At that point, he'd get what DJLM will get this off-season, except that he's going into the market with half a dozen shortstops.

I still think getting hit in the head messed up something with his vision and reaction. We are seeing the same thing with Heyward, who is finally showing flashes of what he used to be at the plate.

I know we've discussed this before but I think that is absolutely correct. Reminds me of when Sammy got hit in the head. Wasn't off the juice but started backing out at the plate. You can see it with Bryant, backs out on pitches and he has this eye blinking/twitch thing that wasn't there before 2018.

Would be funny if Bryant can't even get a Heyward contract.

There is almost no way he gets the dollar value or years of Heyward. He would have to have a monster year. Plus the economics of baseball are going to be changed significantly from when Heyward signed. It is a good bet that there will be major labor contract issues this year.

I'm really surprised that we aren't seeing players willing to take less in 2021 and 2022 in exchange for corresponding higher AAV in 2023-2024 to keep the present value the same. The odds of seeing all of that 2022 salary is low.

Hopefully his righteous anger at the Cubs doing what other teams do as far as service time goes will see him through the fact that he’s going to lose $50-$100 million by not signing the Cubs extension a couple years ago

what a fucking whiny bitch

just get traded already!

Chicago Cubs' Kris Bryant not having as much fun as before:
https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/307 ... fun-before

"I don't give a s---," Bryant said at the time. "I really don't. That's a good answer. I'm over it. Sometimes I go out there and go 4-for-4 and it's not good enough for some people, so I don't give a s---."

Wow he swore! Where was this fire the last few seasons?
