Yep. It's the greatest hit I've ever seen. Ironically, that hit would have been legal today. Cuz he hit him in the chest. And it was only one step after the ball was thrown.

But yeah, the force that Marshall had on hits is unlike any I've seen.

And yes, he should absolutely be in the Hall of Fame. It amazes me how nobody, nationally, knows how great he was.

This Marshall hit needed help to pull it off. It was the perfect storm. William Perry flushed him out so he had to turn his back and roll out to his left. And didn't get a chance to prepare for the hit. Or even see it coming before it was too late. He threw the ball right before the shot witch completely exposed him. So it was the perfect clean shot for Marshall, with a running start, to crush him.

have you watched nfl of the last 5 years? even without tagging the chin/helmet, thats roughing the passer. if you just stare down the qb and that qb falls to the ground in fear, they will call it roughing the passer.

great player - not counting todd bell and al harris - 83-87 bears probably had the best defensive roster ever. of all-time.

heard jay hilgenberg interview talking about the shocking 1987 playoff loss to the redskins. really made it clear to me that ditka got out-coached by a country mile by joe gibbs.

ditka was the offensive guru. well, the redskins had played a traditional 4-3 defense with gibbs and the redskins went 5 defensive lineman for the playoff game. hilgenberg said the bears had no idea who to block. no adjustments, nothing from the offensive guru to counter joe gibbs' mastermind. the only response was flutie..because flutie ate all the stuffing at ditka's thanksgiving dinner.

lots of reasons why the bears didn't win at least 1 more super bowl. the above are some.
