Bought a house.

But then I heard him talking about how sad he is to leave Chicago.

I was thinking to myself, why? You got a wife and a kid. It's not like he's going out on Rush street every night. And he acts like there is nothing to do in the suburbs. The suburbs have bars and restaurants just like Chicago, Danny. Cheaper to live in the suburbs and less traffic. Although there is still traffic.

Why pay rent on a Chicago apartment when you can have a house in the suburbs? Danny still has the frat boy mind set. Get over it, Danny. You lived in KC. I guarantee you there is more to do in the northern suburbs then in down town KC.

Bernstein bought a house in Chicago cuz he said he wanted his kids to see brown people. But where he lives, technically in Chicago, is basically a white suburban area with no brown people. He's about 10 miles from the northern suburbs. So you could have done that. But it's basically the suburbs. And more expensive.

Great post.
This is the correct answer to this whole affair.
And congrats getting a 30 year mortgage while employed in a dying occupation! I'm sure this cannot go poorly!

I understand his parents are rich. He’ll be just fine.

It's more difficult to come to work high from Deerfield or wherever he ends up. In the city, he can just take Uber, as long as somebody doesn't carjack it.

Kid is an infant; no need for a house yet. Pre-Covid nearly every brunch spot or taproom had a gaggle of parents with a newborn. Rite of passage for parents to be a dick and ruin meals and/beers for others. Odd he took the plunge so quickly.

He could’ve bought a house in the city but they’re too expensive for where he wants to live.

Anyways, there is nothing to do in the suburbs so I expect his abuse of substances to skyrocket.

Parkins said his wife was nagging him to do this. And he wanted to be near his Mom so she could help with the kid.

I just don't get this thrill of living in Chicago. Like it's so amazing. I think for Parkins, it's simply to say he lives in Chicago. Deerfield Bernstein felt the same way when he was young. Oh yeah, and the bullshit about wanting his kids to see brown people.

Why? He said it on the air. I commented on it.

I'm the last one from a stalker. I've been asked to meet up with you guys and rejected it every time. I'm more scared of all of you then you are of me.

I don't know what that means, but whatever. Nobody should think I'm a stalker. I take offense to that. My hope is to never meet radio people or any of you. I think I've made that clear a few times.

Funny how the white people are evil people always end up in the burbs. He should put his money where his mouth is and move his family to the south side ghetto.

Cities are built for slackers like Danny. The density is perfect for laziness. Groceries, meals, household goods all can be quickly (same day!) delivered in Chicago.

All household maintenance is taken care of by rental company or most maintenance via an HOA if living in a condo. Dude is going to get overwhelmed with household maintenance in the suburbs.

MANY bars and restaurants within walking distance. Work for him is a short Uber or CTA ride away.

City living fits his lifestyle.

There is a post of mine somewhere from about six months ago saying he'd be fleeing to those safe suburbs far away from the urban issues he was championing.

Just the thought that I could has kept me in the city for 30+ years now. Everyone who moves to the suburbs and talks about being able to easily come back for shows, games, bars, etc. never does. They just go to the Disnified version in their suburb, a/k/a "lifestyle centers".

I know one that might have gotten his sore elbow by taking Hieneken's from a cooler that wasn't his own.

The COVID shutdown destroyed his career worse than Bernstein.

I haven't looked in the North Shore, but my neighborhood has had homes sell for numbers that I cannot even fathom. Ran into my real estate agent friend who worked with when we moved 2 years ago....she said supply of homes for sale (standard sale which excludes foreclosures) is incredibly tight....hence homes selling for much higher money. My house late this year would have sold for 20% higher than what I paid 2 years ago.
