Signing w/ the Angels.

Thank god. This guy fucking sucked. It was more of his I DON'T GIVE A SHIT demeanor that really bothered me. He came from the old WSox culture where they were not held accountable for anything and it showed with his time w/ the cubs.

Hoping Hockey Gay replies to this post with his one classic Quintana Post back in 2017.

Imagine at one time thinking he was worth giving up Eloy and Cease to acquire.

Quintana and Darvish are two of the biggest choke artists in the game. Quintana does just enough to lose and Darvish lacks confidence to be a consistent winner. Glad they are both gone!

Darvish came back after he let go of the WS choke job w/ the Dodgers. He is fine for now until the next bad thing happens where he'll go back to being a basketcase. And that could be missing an easy grounder. He's so fragile.

But Quintana, that's another story. the guy was a pathetic fucking loser. like i posted before, he suffered no consequences with the white sox. and brought that same loser attitude to the cubs clubhouse which probably infected others. He always would have that one inning that shit the bed and would result in a 'L' for the team.

Then he'd walk off the mound with a ho hum attitude like nothing fucking happened.

I always think back to Hockey Gay's comment in 2017 although it's not a PC thing but it validates my rage for this fucking POS.

JORR was right about Quintana all along.

The Angels starting pitching has been so bad for the last twenty years that Quintana can wander in and repeat his Cubs performance and still be a massive improvement. I mean, they signed Matt Harvey after thorasic outlet surgery and Trevor Cahill to be their 2 and 3 starters a couple of years ago.

Quintana turned out to be a dud, but in the end what we gave away(an outfielder so bad he makes Adam Dunn look like a Gold Glover, and a pitcher that will never throw more than 90 innings in a given season) is NOT worth crying over.

Angels are like the WhiteSox team Q was on. Maddon will give him a pass. Money for nothing, chicks for free. Q is a lucky guy. He clearly couldn't do it with a winning ball club like the Cubs coming off the WS in 2017.

You think Eloy ever makes an all star team?

Maybe as a DH, cause they let the idiot fans vote.

Who had a higher OPS (+ 25 points) and hit more homers (+2) than everybody on the Cubs roster in 2020.

It was a terrible trade for the Cubs in the longrun. Just awful. Sure, Q helped the Cubs get back to the playoffs in 2017, but they weren't getting past the NLCS that year.

Historically bad trade for Cubbie Nation. Poor Bob is still in the denial stage years later.

Welcome. Enjoy your DH. (cause a -11 DRS sure as shit isn't seeing left field). Toughest position to fill in all of baseball.

True. It was the compounding of the mistake to not sell high on either Schwarber or Russell+Almora and get Verlander, who really wanted to pitch at Wrigley.

The idea that Schwarber+Quintana was better than Verlander, Happ in LF, and Eloy at AAA was the massive failure.

I don't see how Schwarber is germane to the discussion.

It was about the money.

He's JohnGermane to the discussion because he is a DH.

Schwarber has had one season where he had a positive DRS value.

It was about the money.

But then they turned around and paid Darvish instead of Verlander. So it was about valuing a #4 starter the next year (Quintana) over winning in 2017.

And that is why Schwarber is gone. The discussion is the myth that somehow the Sox "Fleeced" the Cubs. You have to net valuable pieces to claim a "fleece".

It's not a myth. Theo got fleeced. Your definition of "valuable" is wrong.

And your definition of value is poor. So is the White Sox'. Maybe that's why they haven't won a playoff series since Obama was smoking reefer with Rev. Wright.
