This sucks. Remember when he showed up on that MLB broadcast a few years back? Damn, I wish I were older and could have seen him play. One of my favorite baseball cards is the Home Run King one Topps did. Life seemed so unchanging when it was 755/714/660. RBI King, too. Didn't he have like 3700 hits?

Seemed like a great guy, too. My nephew is named after him. (His dad was born in Milwaukee.)

RIP. Was neat when I was a kid to think about him and play him in yard HR derby. I realize I only know half the story but he went though a shitty time as well regarding race in this day. Held his head high as far as I can tell.
