The way I'm understanding it is that a bunch of hedge fund big boys essentially bet that the price of a somewhat failing (or becoming obsolete) business model would drop.
Then some "nerds" figured this out, got together and started buying it up driving the price up. The short sellers (bettors that the price would drop) are in a position to get mega fucked and the nerds are getting rich.

Now with the halting going on, it seems as though the "system" is trying to mitigate losses to the big boys and screw the nerds, but the nerds are fighting back.

That was market manipulation. These fuckers want blood in the streets. They refuse to take any sort of a loss.

WSB people probably cashed out. The meme copycat and FOMO people are left holding this bag now.

Winklevoss twins on CNBC now talking shit about how the network brings hedge fund guys on to manipulate stock, and that’s why they didn’t want to purchase GmE or amc because they just wanted to come on and support the little guy.

They were promptly cut off by the host.

I imagine MANY people cashing out of Robinhood and moving elsewhere is part of the GME drop.

Ken Griffin is probably on the phone with Bezos right now figuring out which trading platforms AWS need to shut down. Just tell everyone it's because of hate speech.

I hope the lawsuits are ready for all these brokerages who have shut down trading of these stocks. Of course the price is going down - you can't get the volume when half of all brokerages are refusing to allow people to purchase.

Anyone know if these brokerages are also refusing to allow people to sell? Can you imagine holding GME and having to watch it drop back down without the ability to sell?

Maybe through an ETF, as it would be hard for most of these customers to open a futures account.

Liquidation is pretty much always allowed and the lawsuits will go nowhere. Perfectly legal to go liquidation only.

they are saying winklvoss twins are being conspiratorial without any evidence. winklevoss says well why don't you ask RH? and the host was like "they released a statement" and winklevoss is like you are journalist why don't you guys press them on this release that is very vague and doesn't seem correct. and the guy was like well i'm talking to you!

lol. uh RH has been already fined multiple times for breaking rules.

Really kinda fucked that a trading platform would only allow you to sell a stock. Seems like shit could be manipulated that way.

It depends on why they had to do it though.

Market volatility is almost always the reason and it obviously applies here, so no matter what the real reason is, they're covered.

It sucks and its shady but its legal.

It won't be easy but you'd have to prove it was done to help a hedge fund that gives them significant money.
