A couple of weeks ago, I looked up Botes splits by time of game. He's far better in the late innings, and horrible when he starts a game.

He is going to make a good cost-controlled pinch hitter and backup 5 position guy once they launch Russell, but he is only good at hitting relief pitchers who predominantly rely on their fastball.

He was pretty good here.


No i pretty much correctly remember he sucked. He was great for like the first 2 weeks when the cubs picked him up. then after that, he couldn't buy a hit.

He's a holy roller, or was. He had a falling out with a gay baseball guy. They made amends, buried the hatchet, moved on. Way after this was settled, the day the Cubs got him. Parkins and Speigel gutlessly attacked him for almost a whole show, that he was the great satan.
