Whomever was the African American offensive tackle in the playoffs(left or right, forgot) woof, he's terrible. He wouldn't even make the Bears roster.

Billy Turner and he had an extremely bad Championship game, hadn't shown that all year.

Did they say anything about Bakhtiari?

Gutey says they believe there is a chance that he will be back to start the season, but they will not rush it as he is too valuable.

If he was healthy, I think the Packers beat the Bucs.

Not sure, way to many mistakes by a lot of players.

Even with that being said, nothing makes Rodgers human like a consistent pass rush. If Bakhtiari is healthy, that pass rush gets a least two less sacks.

You can say the same for Tom Brady as well.

Joe Barry is the new DC. Not exactly an exciting pick. The 2 times he had the job previously they were pretty awful. Writing an NFL resume must be an art form. When they hired McCarthy he had been the OC of the worst offense in the league.

Watch what will happen next year. The Bears in week 17 (or 18 :? ) will have like 3 wins, be set for a top 4 pick, and inexplicably beat the Packers in that final game to move to like the #8 pick.

Did you have any thoughts on them signing Jones to a deal?

I know you were high on going to Dillon next year.

Fantastic, I'll be watching the CHARGERS win the AFC West.

I don't like it. He's a great player and a top RB but you should never pay RBs and it retroactively makes the Dillon pick worse. You drafted Dillon in the 2nd round, he played great the only time they featured him as a rookie, and now you're paying $12M a year in a down cap year to keep him in a backup role. It makes no sense.

Yep I agree with you, it really makes no sense. They should not have drafted Dillon if they were going to resign him.

I wonder how much that signing is to make Aaron happy, I am sure it has something to do with it.

Could be. And in a vacuum GB is a better team with Jones than without Jones, obviously, so I'm not gonna complain too hard about it. But in a hard cap league there is no vacuum, just opportunity cost. Is Aaron Jones/AJ Dillon/MVS better than AJ Dillon/Jamal Williams/Will Fuller? Probably not.

Jones is only a $4.5M hit in 2021 & $9M in 2022 when the cap goes up. They need 2 backs and now they should have one of the better pairs in the league. If they restructure AR and fill a couple of holes with the money they free up it will be a solid off-season.

Packerswire isn't exactly exuding confidence over the hiring of the new DC:

Quote:
There’s no need to skirt around the fact: Barry’s previous two stints as a defensive coordinator didn’t go well. His defenses in Detroit and Washington ranged from fantastically average to historically bad. And two failed opportunities as a coordinator is hard to overlook. But talent matters. It just does. The players almost always matter more than the coordinator. And in Green Bay, he’ll have significantly more individual talent, especially at key positions. It’s on Brian Gutekunst and the personnel department to make sure the stars on the Packers defense – Kenny Clark, Za’Darius Smith, Jaire Alexander and Adrian Amos – are complemented with better surrounding talent in 2021. Schemes and coordinators can mask deficiencies, but a defense is usually only as good as its weakest link.

This guy probably sucks, but the players will take care of things. Defensive Coordinators don't matter, right? That's why we just axed our previous DC!

That's literally about the best job someone can do to spin it as not a terrible hire. It's pretty inexcusable. I guess it's just a "hope this works out even though there is zero evidence to indicate it will" thing

Per Schefter, Rodgers has told the front office that he wants out of Green Bay.
