A few things, just for the record:
I don't have children and I don't belong to any organized religion. So, on a purely PERSONAL level I don't care what Notre Dame High School does in regards to filling an asst. BB coach position. Since a large function of this board would seem to be to use humor, satire, irony, etc. to have a good time discussing sports radio, I just brought up what I thought was a little irony. And I wasn't so much commenting specifically on the gambling nature of North's website but rather the irony that a Catholic institution, with priests and their image a bit under fire lately for some of their . . . um, extracurricular activities, would have a somewhat high-profile coach (well, not quite as high-profile since he lost his radio gig) using the image of a cigar-chomping priest giving betting tips.
As far as the gambling goes, though, I must add that I don't think North's venture is comparable to a Vegas night at a church or school where kids' parents or other church members play Bingo or poker and the proceeds go to charity or to the institution.
Neither I nor anyone I know of is sending any letter to the school. It was a JOKE referring to a past letter-sending incident on the board that perhaps many of our newer members don't remember. If the administration and parents at ND have no problem with North, I am NOT about to embark on nor encourage some sort of campaign to remove him. Believe me, that's not my agenda. Furthermore, even if the school DID take action, I think it's a volunteer position, so no food is being taken off of Mike and BeBe's (and Jen's) table.
I still think North is an arrogant, ignorant gasbag and had a bad radio show and I'm glad he's off the Score. Once that happened, I didn't have much to say about him for quite some time. However, with his new website he's thrust himself back into the public eye again and so far, this is one of the most ill-conceived, badly put-together ventures of its kind that I've seen and I'm enjoying immensely many of the hilarious posts here about it.
Great view PC. I wonder what North sounds like as a coach
