He’s got a kid and mortgage now.
He’s be stupid to not look out for more $$.
Yeah. But whatever they offered him would be enough for the mortgage and kid. Bernstein is doing fine with his kids and mortgage. I'm sure it's about 200k. And this mickey mouse Cowherd podcast thing isn't gonna work. That's gonna blow up quickly and be out of business. So if that's getting in the way, he shouldn't have taken that.
i doubt Parkins is making 200K in today's radio economy. Coming from KC, he probably got a bump but not alot. Bernstein has been w/ the company and in the industry 20+ years . Parkins is still a youngster and just coming into a more experienced worker than beginner. So I doubt the Score is paying him that much.
Cowherd thing is national . thats a huge step up than local. He can be the next greeny if he plays his cards right.
Yeah. But it's afternoon drive. It's his 2nd contract. If it's not 200, it's at least 150k. Which is enough for the mortgage, kid, weed and his gambling.
no way. you tend to over estimate these radio nobodies.
why would they pay some unproven kid out of KC coming to Chicago 150 or 100 K. makes no sense. he came in as an experiment. he's not some superstar they signed or a vet like Mac who has a history of pulling in big ratings.
in a dying medium, management has the advantage. they can hire anyone off the street and basically parkins is a step away from being hired off the street.
Chet will probably know better but at the most he's probably doing 50 if even that. most likely 35-40k.
Now Cowherd, theyll def pay him more than the score.
I know it's down. North once made a million. Mac said he was at 750k at ESPN 1000.
But afternoon drive on the SCORE is at least 150k. Especially on the 2nd contract. And that's acknowledging that it's down. Down by a lot. So I do understand it. You think 35 to 50k? No way. If that's the case then the producers are at poverty level salaries. And I know Shep and Zawaski have houses. And they both have kids. Cuz they've talked about their houses and their kids. So you're wrong.
I mean if you think a host is making as low as 35k, what the hell do you think a producer is making?
those guys have kids and homes because their wives are the ones making the money. not them. North/Mac salaries you are quoting are from 20 and 10 years old. different ball game now.
a producer is probably making barely 30/32.
Ya parkins is on his 2nd contract. you're not getting big money on a 2nd contract in any industry - especially radio these days - unless you are an overnight sensation like Mike North was. Parkins is no overnight sensation. He's just another expendable radio guy. He's not that much better than McDoink or Haugh.
I'm pretty sure he's not making 6 figures on his 2nd contract regardless of being on in the afternoon or not. People tell me Im not w/ the times but you got to get w/ the times. This isnt an industry in its hey dey in the mid 90s where Michael Jordan made everyone money. It's an industry in the middle of a pandemic who just came off a year with hardly any sports to talk about.
