He’s absolutely making more than $100k. There’s no question that salaries aren’t what they used to be and that radio revenue is way down but the death of local sports radio is greatly exaggerated. He’s a prime time host in a large market. You may not love him but those guys aren’t a dime a dozen either.

Agreed I am on the plus side in case there was doubt. Also doubt sir makes more than Bernsie. Unless they are adding all sides in.

we haven't done a Sir Salary breakdown in a while, so I may be a little rusty:

Score salary $150K
DePaul professor $100K
retainer to develop future projects with NBC $250K
real estate holdings $100K
protection money from neighborhood $50K

Did anyone else notice that during transition on Wednesday, Holmes kept on calling it the Afternoon Show and not the Parkin's Show. Seemed one of those obvious but not obvious things too. Like he wasn't calling attention to it, but also very specifically would say AFTERNOON Show.

I actually heard them say it was the Parkins show with Spiegel and Grote. I know they were just saying that was for that day but for a second I was a fearing a three man weave.

Holy huitlacoche--a VI sighting! Wow!!

Good to have you pop in.

I haven't been listening to the Holmes show, so I sadly cannot comment on your query.

The typical DePaul University Associate Professor salary is $85,839....if you are full time.

I caught like a minute of Spiegel yesterday. He was being his typical fake radio persona self. Said "there were some award nominations today, what were they?"

Some producer said: Grammys?

Spiegel immediately: No, not the grammys. maybe the emmys

Spiegs you're on twitter all day and it was trending all day. You knew it was the Golden Globes. It's ok to know that.

You ain't gotta lie to kick it, my brother

Right, so Laurence has to be making double that.

Double the average salary of a full time prof? that makes sense.

Engineering Adjuncts at Northwestern make about $350/classroom hour, and a full year of a 3 hour/week class is 90 hours. Figure a classroom hour translates into six real labor hours given developing lesson plans, grading assignments and tests, and dealing with administrivia.

An Associate Professor would be on their way to tenure, including having published research. That would not be LoHo. And Northwestern certainly pays better than DePaul.

Also, I remember Laurence taking a bunch of January vacation one year when he was doing nights, and explained that new paper starts 2/1 and so he had to use up his old vacation.

With Parkins, what happened with his brother? I read initially when he was first diagnosed with a serious illness but never heard anything more.

That sounds more like it. I don't think Holmes is a full time professor, and I've heard of adjuncts making somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000 per class.

Sir has made it pretty apparent a couple of times today that Parkins and Speigel is a done deal, to be announced at 2:00.
(Note: for some reason Mitch mandated no cross-talk between LH and P&S today. I'm not sure why that matters...it's not exactly earth-shattering news).

Interesting...have numerous professional contacts involved in education and it takes a while to reach a full professorship, and as stated it involves full times status with published research, a quick check of DePaul's staff directory shows he's an inactive adjunct professor. Not getting rich, but making a few bucks on the side. Know one guy that is a full time adjunct and makes about $50,000, but does not have to do any research/scholarly papers, avoids board meetings, and has summers, holidays off.

To add to your unbridled enthusiasm, he also promised complete transparency between now and then.

So rest easy on those pins and needles

yeah unless they are just all playing around it does not sound like it is meatpants. And if it is they are sure going thru an odd way of announcing it
