I understand the overenthusiasm from first time parents. They haven't quite figured out that their situation has happened billions of times in the history of man and, while special to them, is pretty mundane to the rest of the world. Those doing it on the second, third, fourth, etc. are the ones that you have to watch out for as they will cause problems in this world down the line because of their kid.

My favorite one of these stories was from Iowa a few years ago where some people inadvertently made a pipe bomb by using tannerite for a gender reveal. It ended with some relative getting her head taken off.

The kid in that story was a boy so I'm guessing the name "Tanner" would've been appropriate.

Technically, the article doesn't say it was a "gender reveal". Just says it was a celebration of coming baby. Sounds like the guy it just an idiot that likes shooting his cannon at parties. My guess is he isn't very picky with the reason for the celebration, more of a "hold my beer" kind of guy.

The only solution is to add significantly more cannons to gender reveal parties.

Bernsie today touched on this. He was mostly correct saying they were dumb and not to do it. That is until he said that part of the reason people do these parties is that they cannot accept the changing norms in gender fluidity and want to be manly and prove they are having a son or daughter.
