Yeah '13-'14 was awful. We've been lucky overall the last few winters, but this last 2-3 weeks has been insane. I think I have shoveled more snow during this recent stretch than I did all of 2019 and 2020.

Fortunately, it looks as though starting on Sunday the cold will start to ease a bit and we'll have high temps above freezing for the most part for an extended stretch. It also does not appear that there will be a huge 1-2 day jump in temps coupled with rain which would create all kinds of floods and headaches.

We're two weeks from March and the sun's rays will start to get stronger which makes it tougher for a real cold snap to stick around for more than a couple of days.

This winter has been wonderful. The only quibble is 12 weeks of winter has been consolidated and unleashed in 3 weeks. Nov, Dec, and most of Jan were a sad excuse for winter.

Love the snow. Bring on more.

Probably because all of November and two thirds of December occur during Autumn.

It's sad to see the pussification of Chicago in real time. Would've figured we'd be more Chicago Tough with the exodus of wimps like Ogie, jackref and Ron Wolfley running off to Arkansas, Arizona, North Carolina and other craptacular Sunbelt cities.

MANY people whining just need to dress properly. Boots, warm pants, gloves, jacket, hat...perfectly fine. I want to nutstomp co-workers rolling into work with a sweatshirt whining about the cold. Good grief. Stop dressing like some dimwitted transplant.

Snow is fine. 2 feet is a bit much to have on the ground at once.

I've shoveled in shorts every damn time. The real pussies are people that dress properly. GTFO with boots and warm pants, not Chicago Tuff.

For me, it's not about dealing with it right now (Chicago tough vs. the wimps). As much as it sucks, I can deal with it, but I'd rather have -30 than more snow. With each additional snow, I see "spring" moving later.

I've snow blown in shorts almost everytime. Sometimes sneakers, usually boots. With the Uncle Eddie hat from menards, it's a nice look.

It only sucks when it's windy.

Shoveled our driveway for the first time in prob 8 years and like the 4th time in 17 years in this house.

Hard to tell how much we have with all the blowing and drifting, but I would guess 4 or 5 inches.

Don't log in. It's the process for half of CPS students

Probably will tell my kid to do that, if they don't mind the cold.

Our school had last Monday and Friday off with institute days and today with President's day so it's not as big of a deal for us. I think even my daughter's bored of snow.

Wow, I thought you were joking. Major meth bust in 2014. Farm house used as a meth factory.

We went drinking in South Wilmington once. Who knew Wilmington had a suburb? We started out eating at a German restaurant in downtown Gardner. Great place (gone now though). Our waitress told us about a party at a bar in said suburb. The bar was like somebodies house and party meant you bought a plastic cup and could drink from a keg in the back yard. It was like being in high school again. Good times, but I wouldn’t do it these days. :drunken:
