Nathan Peterman would move up to #2 on the RAIDERS depth chart.

There is a report from an SI guy that Wentz doesn't want to come to Chicago and that's the reason why the deal hasn't gotten done.

Why would he want to play for the Bears if he could go to the Colts instead?

They were just as good as the Bears last year with a much better quarterback.

I think, just like for good assistants, it’s a tough sell if the front office and coaching staff is basically on a one year deal. Why move to a place, even if you like the situation, when there is that uncertainty. On the flip side he could of watched Bears film and see that the one year situation might be great but does he want to put up with that shit for a year. Or it’s how Jerry treated the Bulls after the second threepeat. That seems unlikely though.

Colts are a much better spot for Wentz.

Working behind one of the best offensive lines in football, and with a coach he likes should help give him a chance to find his mojo again.

According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, though, that last note might be part of why a trade hasn't happened yet.

Breer joined The Herd with Colin Cowherd on Monday to talk about the Wentz trade situation, and he offered up an intriguing nugget about the behind-closed-doors dealings:

"I think Chicago is the frontrunner this morning, and I do know there's a feeling inside that building from Ryan Pace, from the coaching staff, Matt Nagy, John DeFilippo [...] they believe, mechanically, they can fix him.

"[...]

"I think the issue right now, Colin, is where Carson Wentz wants to go. I think it's become pretty clear he'd rather go to Indianapolis, and I think part of it now, for the Eagles, is, 'Alright, if our best return now is Chicago over Indy, then we need to convince Carson Wentz, this is the only place you're going, bud, and you need to buck up and accept this, and realize the Bears are going to give you a good chance.'

"I think it's pretty clear at this point that the Bears have pushed harder than the Colts to get Carson Wentz. [...] I think the Bears would like to at least know that Carson Wentz is on board before pulling a trigger on a trade."

yea let's take a quarterback who doesn't want to be here.

deshawn watson all in. that dude would love it here. the team would love him. the owners probably not so much, being black and everything.

After having multiple black quarterbacks the ownership is now against one who can actually play.

I often equate 11-5 with 8-8. Do you also think having $100 is "just as good" as having $1000?

13 Games, only 3 of those games had a +75 QB Rating...16 TD 15 Int.

Oh wait, he's going to be a CHICAGO BEAR QUARTERBACK...well, that makes perfect sense now...he'll fit right in

Fair enough. The Colts were a great team last year. I'm sure Wentz will be the missing piece.

You don't have to scale Olympian heights to be better than the Bears.

The Bears should just stick with Foles, draft 2 offensive linemen, tag A.R., and find one more offensive weapon for Nick. That's better than starting over with Wentz!

Agreed. They are in enough problems salary cap wise. Wentz is a bad idea.

Draft a QB as well. Draft one every year until that position gets solved. Then draft more QBs and if another pans out, trade him.

unfortunately, after the first couple of rounds that qb is extremely unlikely to work out.... not hard to figure out why the 6th round playoff record is abnormally high

Drafting a QB in the 6th round seems optimal lol

It is possible that the Bears may trade for a QB with a massive contract who is a worse quarterback, worker and teammate than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. All because of a 12 game stretch 3 years ago that Kurt Warner said was awful quarterbacking masked by a significant number of special throws after the play broke down.

Gamble on a project that doesn't have a huge contract if you can't trade for an actual good quarterback with a proven track record.

I agree on both counts. I want nothing to do with Wentz.
