Typical Pulte

Dummy, my place up north. My Pulte has never had frozen water lines. As I have said many times, the Pulte has been the best built home I ever owned, and I have had it 17 years.

The place up north is a custom built log style homes. The insulation is just not as good on those places.

Copper waterlines tend to bust when frozen.

Yes, and mine up north are Pex. Code is completely different up there.

At least 12 inches in Uptown/Ravenswood. Shoveled out my spot twice last night and once this morning. Cocksucker saw me pulling out and swiped my spot  Didn't even last a second.

Roads aren't the best but with the right vehicle they're peanuts. Easy peasy.

Your fault for not having dibs items locked and loaded.

Per Bill Snyder at WGN;
Quote:
Midway Airport, on average, gets about 37.1" of snow for the entire season. Since January 30th, MDW has received 40.1" of snow.

O'Hare Field, the official observation site for Chicago, has had measurable snow for nine consecutive days. This ties the all time record for daily measurable snow set Feb 3-11, 2018.

A MUCH weaker system is likely to bring at least some snow to parts of the area Wednesday afternoon and evening. If at least 0.1" of snow occurs at ORD, a new record of 10 consecutive days with measurable snowfall will be set.

I wouldn't call parking in a spot that somebody else shoveled out three times winning a stupid prize.

Then don't call somebody a cocksucker for parking in a public spot.

context is tough to convey on a message board. i wasn't mad or angry. just thought it was funny how quickly my shoveled spot was taken.

Then I hope s/he enjoys doing so.

I believe that Kirkwood used the term as an insult as if to call the driver a "jerk" with more colorful language. That being the case, and with Kirkwood's implication that public roads and spots are just that, nobody should be insulted for parking in an unclaimed public parking spot IMO.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, this snow sucks. Normally I don't mind winter all that much, but these last three weeks have been incredibly brutal.

Yeah, that sucks. Not only are there a ton of calls I'm sure, but travel time is probably at least 100% longer than when the roads are clear.

What are we supposed to get?

I would like too see another 4-6 up north. The cold weather has meant the last foot stuck and kept the trails open. But some fresh powder on top would be nice. I should be able to get another week or so in.

I don't know where there isn't plenty of snow now.

The entire state of WI has open trails. Looking at the travel map all in blue is a great site.

On Sunday they were predicting 3-6" on Thursday, but I think yesterday's storm took all the snow.

Now if we can just get some sustained sunshine until then, I can feel so very much better.

Maybe this should be in homeowner tips but with that being the case its a really really good idea to make sure your sump pump hose isn't frozen solid under that snow. Its days like Sunday when I go to a lot of burned out sump pump calls because they're pumping against an ice dam.

woke up at 5:30 to go get pacazki. The snow was calf deep, I had to dig my car out and the streets were not traversable. I fired up the snow blower and went to work for a couple of hours (helped out some neighbors) then waited for the plows to eventually come by to clear. The paczki was obtained!

It was nice watching the sun come up in the silence with the snow piles. I hope I don't get another opportunity

you know we are in the US, correct?

by the way, they are pretty popular but paczki day is about a week before fat tuesday

Now go and plan your big reveal on St. Patrick's Day that corned beef isn't eaten that often in Ireland.
