Wasn't DUI per the police. My guess is he was texting. The road curved, he jumped the median, hit a sign, crossed on-coming traffic, barely missed a steel power pole (he would have died), jumped the opposite curb, and rolled the vehicle 30 yards from the roadway.

from what i read it's a Dead Man's Curve where he had the accident. I guess it's common where he was driving. But still could have been a blonde on the side of the road he started staring at and was distracted.

They are saying he was driving too fast and as some have mentioned probably wasn't paying attention for a split second and lost it. Multiple compound fractures in his right leg a rod was inserted and I think multiple pins and screws in the leg and ankle. Considering this and keeping his back in mind I would say it is going to be a tough road back to competitive golf. I am not discounting the fact that maybe he was impaired but based on early reports it seems unlikely. I'd also agree that he seemed a bit off when I was watching his interview on Sunday but to me I think he was more non-plussed and bored at being there and annoyed at the line of questioning from Nantz trying to get insight into the Masters. Tiger isn't going to give any info away.

When I snapped my leg and saw the bone sticking out and my lower leg at about a 45° angle, I said "I gotta get of here" and tried to stand up. The opposing team's coach held me down until the ambulance arrived.
