With the latest Barry Bonds steriods/HGH story today, Bruce Levine was pathetic today - when he was part of a pool of reporters asking Dusty Baker about Bonds, Levine seemed irritated that there would any question that Baker knew more than he's saying, basically seemed put off by the whole story, acted like it was a non-story, and that the media is responsible for it.

Credit To George Ofman from the Score, who actually asked legitmate questions today.

I heard the same exact thing. The little credibility Bruce had, is now gone in my eyes. He is nothing more than a team apologist. I hope Silvy busts his balls Wed morning.

Yeah, I'll be interested in hearing Levine when he's on one of his shows - hopefully, this topic will come up, and we'll see what he has to say when he's not infront of Dusty Baker.

I believe in the past, he has come across as an apologist for the players, and has gotten little shots in at the fans who question the records.

Maybe Bruce is too concerned about losing his Vineline gig? Another example of the Tribune and the conflict of interest that results from them owning a professional sports team.

Plus, Bruce is Dusty Baker's biggest defender in this town. Baker and Hendry have never done anything wrong if you listen to Levine.

Levine and Murph should do a Cubs show on WGN, that way the bias would be expected.

I can hear it now...

Murph: Why don't you go do your job!
Levine: Without me, you don't have a job!

Someone should ask Bruce why he has never attempted to investigate the same issue with Sammy Sosa.

Bruce only reports the news the White Sox and Cubs want reported. Nothing more. Bruce was Sammy's biggest cheerleader (besides Mike Kiley). It was only when Sosa left town that Levine took a shot at Sammy.

I want to know why he is the last man to leave the clubhouse. What does he do all day? Hmmm?
